Sherri Shepherd’s Show Expected To Be Canceled…She’s Not Cutting It!
Sherri Shepherd is hinting that her show might be canceled after only airing two episodes!
During her first episode, Sherri joked about her self-titled talk show getting canceled while interviewing Kandi Burruss. Sherri, 55, welcomed The Real Housewives of Atlanta star on her show, and Kandi came with gifts from her line, Bedroom Kandi. Sherri joked, “I would open them right now but they would cancel the show,” to which Kandi agreed, “Yeah I don’t want you to do that.” Even during her Tuesday episode, the comedian hinted that her talk show might not be around for long. Shepherd reacted to Sheryl Lee Ralph’s breathtaking speech at the Emmys with cheer and applause.
After she sat back down Sherri said, “I hope that last b*tch didn’t cancel my show.” All the jokes about her show getting canceled are all in good fun since she doesn’t want to meet the same fate as The Wendy Williams Show. The former The View host revealed that she was a little nervous about her new gig while talking to Daily Mail online. Sherri revealed her show will be all about positive energy, kindness, and laughter. “Why would it be anything but that? As a celebrity myself, I know what it’s like to not feel safe appearing on a show or hoping a host doesn’t try to have a gotcha moment with you. It will be a celebrity-friendly zone on Sherri.”
Viewers can expect to see a number of celebrities on Sherri’s couch in the upcoming episodes. She told the news outlet a few people she wants to interview. “’You know I want Oprah! Who wouldn’t? I would so love to sit opposite of Meryl Streep! And you know I have a crush on Regé-Jean Page, he has to come. And Trevor Noah, he’s a priority, too. I’d love to do a duet with Pat Benatar. And I must celebrate the living legend that is actress Marla Gibbs — that queen deserves her flowers.”
Sherri also spoke about how the move from the West Coast to New York reminds her of when she shot a pilot for a talk show back in 2005, and now her dreams were a reality. “It didn’t get picked up. That was before I even landed The View. When I left The View, I told everyone that would listen that I wanted my own talk show,” she shared. “I came close in 2019, but the timing wasn’t right.”
