Wendy Williams Begs Famous Friends To Boycott Sherri Shepherd’s New Talk Show!
Wendy Williams is allegedly asking her famous friends not to support Sherri Shepherd’s new talk show!
The Wendy Williams Show came to an end in June 2022 after decades on television and it seems the former host is not ready to let it go. According to sources close to Wendy Williams, 58, who spoke to The U.S Sun, she has been asking her famous friends including actors and reality TV stars not to appear on Sherri Shepherd’s new show that replaced hers in the daytime slot. They said, “Wendy has been calling her friends and saying don’t go on the Sherri show and don’t promote it.” The source went on to say that since Nick Cannon said he won’t support Sherri’s talk show, no one else should.
The sources added about Nick, “He won’t support Sherri no one else should either, but the thing is – Nick doesn’t have his talk show anymore, so it’s no skin off his nose to distance himself.” According to the source, Williams is also reaching out to her Real Housewives friends to take her side and not go on the talk show. “She is calling all her favorite Real Housewives friends, too. The thing is, Wendy thinks she has this loyalty, but at the end of the day, no one is going to turn Sherri down.” Sherri’s talk show will replace The Wendy Williams Show on September 12 and she is already preparing for the debut in the New York studio.
Sherri, 55, responded to the shade she had been getting from Wendy Williams’ in an interview with Daily Mail and said that her show isn’t going to be as mean as hers. Sherri said, “Let’s be clear, I’m not a mean person at all. I’m all about positive energy. I’m about joy. I’m about kindness and laughter. Anyone that knows me will tell you just that.” The actress continued, “As a celebrity myself, I know what it’s like to not feel safe appearing on a show or hoping a host doesn’t try to have a gotcha moment with you. It will be a celebrity-friendly zone on Sherri.”
Sherri also told The Jasmine Brand that she drew inspiration for her talk show from legendary hosts like Oprah Winfrey and Ellen Degeneres. She said, “A little bit of Ellen. A little bit of inspiration of Oprah, a lot of the laughter of Ellen and put that together, and then you got Sherri and I am like, ‘let’s go.’” According to reports from the show’s team, it will feature a daily dose of pop culture, comedy, conversations, and a plentiful supply of daytime talk staples, including celebrity and human interest interviews.”
