NeNe Leakes Threatens To Release Recordings That Could End Andy Cohen’s Career!
Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, NeNe Leakes, is claiming that she has secret recordings that she wants to make public, amid her legal war with Bravo and network executive, Andy Cohen.
NeNe took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to put Bravo and Cohen on blast.
The 54-year-old wrote— “I am happy I was able to help all the other black women get job opportunities that are working for them. He stopped me from working because I was a threat to his career! Yet he was able to abuse me for years.”
The former Bravo star added—“I want to release these voice recordings so bad.”
NeNe then retweeted a message from a fan who said—“Andy used you until he wanted to kick you to the curb and then slander you so you couldn’t obtain any further work. It’s so disappointing and it is definitely different than how he treats other housewives he disagrees with or has parted ways with.”
Another follower wrote—“Andy high key used her popular to benefit off of to build his celebrity up and when he didn’t feel like he needed Nene anymore, she was gone, and he’s started to strategically befriend other popular names instead until their popularity starts to fade away.”
NeNe filed a lawsuit against Bravo, NBCUniversal, Andy Cohen, True Entertainment, and Truly Original, in April.
NeNe claimed that she was ousted from RHOA after she told executives that former co-star, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, made racist remarks while filming the show.
“As the Black Lives Matter movement swept our nation, Mrs. Leakes — Bravo’s historically most successful Black female talent — should have been embraced by NBC, Bravo, and True,” her lawsuit read. “Instead, NBC, Bravo, and True forced her out of the ‘house she built,’ denying her a regular role.”
NeNe claimed that Cohen and the network went on to “blacklist” and “sabotage her attempts to secure work beyond RHOA.”
NeNe pointed to a potential Sirius XM radio show deal in the lawsuit, alleging that Cohen “interfered with, and sabotaged, this effort.”
“Cohen has admitted that he told Sirius XM that Mrs. Leakes would demand a lot of money for any role on a radio show, an obvious effort to prevent her from getting such a deal,” the lawsuit read.
In June, Kim spoke out for the first time about the legal skirmish during an appearance on OWN’s The Nightcap with Carlos King. The former Don’t Be Tardy star denied that she ever made racist remarks while filming the Georgia franchise.
“[NeNe] knows what she’s saying is not true in regards to me,” Kim told King. “That’s ridiculous, and she knows it.”
“I’ll deal with her when she’s done with them,” added the former Bravo star. ”You can’t say things that aren’t true and try to defame somebody.”
A June court filing revealed that the defendants requested that the case be moved to private arbitration. If a judge agrees, the case will be hidden from the public. NBC and Cohen claimed that NeNe’s contract had a provision that required all legal issues to be addressed in arbitration.
The court has yet to rule on the request.
