LeeAnne Locken Feels She Was ‘Set Up To Fail’ On ‘RHOD!’
LeeAnne Locken says she was sabotaged by producers during her time on The Real Housewives of Dallas!
LeeAnne, 55, opened up about life after leaving the Bravo reality TV show during an episode of Us Weekly’s ‘Getting Real with the Housewives.’ Locken said that she left because she was always the target of drama from her co-stars. LeeAnne said that the network and producers always set her up to fail year after year, but she always found a way to get back up.
“I was set up to fail every year and the thing that the producers and Bravo never got about me is that I truly live the life of a Phoenix, which means if I get to the end of my rope and I see no hope, scorched earth is my only policy left because I know I’m gonna rise and that’s how I’ve always been.”
Locken also said in the interview that she is now rising and soaring like a Phoenix, and she is happy and not struggling. LeeAnne admitted that she stopped having fun filming over the years because the cast was so focused on “taking out LeeAnne.” The former Bravo star revealed that she always spoke to producers before every season began and told them she doesn’t want to lie or do anything that was out of character for her.
However, she claimed her co-stars made things difficult since their loyalty was always rooted in making good television rather than their friendship. “It’s funny because as the show ended, our cast would reach out to me saying, “I just want you to know the producers really wanted me to do that.”
In the Us Weekly interview, LeeAnne added that The Real Housewives of Dallas would still be on-air if she hadn’t decided to step away. The Bravo reality series was canceled for low ratings one year after the Texas native announced her departure. “I mean, the highest-rated episode of season four was not the reunion, people turned off the reunion. The highest watched episode of season four was my wedding.”
Locken added that these days people don’t want to see petty arguments and bickering over bullsh*t, “People want to see an authentic journey of victory and that’s, that’s what I tried to provide.” Despite LeeAnne’s experience during her four seasons on The Real Housewives of Dallas, she says she would return to reality TV in a heartbeat. But it depends on who the production company will be, who the other cast members are, and where she is in life.”
