‘RHOA’ Star Marlo Hampton’s Home Invaded by Four Masked Men!
Marlo Hampton’s Sandy Springs, Georgia home was invaded by four masked men, on July 1st. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star opened up about the attempted burglary, which occurred while she was home, on Wednesday.
“When I heard the boom, when I heard my nephew scream – and I knew that scream was a scream of fear – my heart dropped,” Marlo told WSBTV about the scary incident.
She explained that she went into a panic room and called 9-1-1. The men ran away, likely because they heard screams before the police arrived.
“I just thank God and we’re covered in the blood of Jesus and I’m here to share this story with you,” the reality star continued.
Marlo added—“But my main concern is, I want all the ladies, I want everyone to be aware if you are posting items, if you do have luxury items, be careful.”
Marlo has been caring for her two nephews, Michael 15, and Williams, 13, for several years.
The Sandy Springs Police Department believes that the suspects are members of a gang connected to at least 15 break-ins that have largely targeted celebrities who live in the Atlanta suburb.
Officers arrested four alleged members of the gang as they attempted to break into a townhouse owned by one of Future’s baby mamas, on Sunday morning. SSPD officers were reportedly watching the property, as they considered the address a likely target. The men, who authorities believe are targeting homes of “high profile entertainment, sports or social media figures,” are also suspected of robbing the home of Gunna, in March.
Sergeant Matt McGinnis told WSB-TV that he and his team had been extensively investigating the gang’s past “for at least a year.”
Four suspects have been charged with crimes connected to Sunday’s break-in. However, McGinnis believes that there are several other gang members involved in the string of home invasions.
Marlo has shown off her lavish home and flaunted her wardrobe and accessories in the past, allowing fans and followers peeks inside her closet. She owns a red Chanel croc bag, which retails for about $17K. She also showed fans a mint green Hermes crocodile bag, and an orange Birkin bag. A Chanel LED Boy Black Clutch was also visible inside her closet. Marlo showed off a collection of Jimmy Choo and Louboutin shoes, as part of her closet tour.
“This is la la land,” she said about her closet.
The Bravo star’s harrowing experience comes nine months after Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Dorit Kemsley, was robbed at gunpoint inside her Encino, California home.
In May, Marlo revealed construction plans for her new Decatur, Georgia mansion. Hampton revealed in an interview that her home will have a grand entrance and a closet the size of a department store.
