Candiace Dillard Reveals Why She ‘Almost Flipped’ On Andy Cohen!
Candiace Dillard-Bassett has revealed the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion moment that nearly made her flip, during a conversation with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Sutton Stracke.
Candiace, who chatted with Sutton for a recent episode of Housewife to Housewife, revealed what Andy Cohen said that almost set her off. Candiace also took the opportunity to throw shade at her co-stars and speak about what she would name her “Most Iconic Moment.”
Sutton admitted that she often finds herself “the common denominator” amid unfolding RHOBH drama, but added that she sees the title as a positive thing. Candiace revealed that she did not appreciate it when Cohen aimed the same accusation at her, during the Season 6 reunion.
“Oh God, Andy called me that at the reunion and I almost flipped my sh-t,” she admitted.
Candiace explained that she didn’t “want to say [she’s] picked on” or play the victim. She added that she didn’t understand why her co-stars “are so triggered” whenever she breaks down in tears.
“What I say is, ‘That is not a reflection of me. That is a reflection of you and your low emotional intelligence. You need to go to therapy and figure out why me expressing emotion is triggering to you. Because I’m releasing mine. I’m going to be able to sleep tonight because I cried and I’m letting my emotion out,’” she said.
Candiace admitted that she regretted the moments when her runaway mouth landed her in hot water with the other ladies.
“There are people I wish I would have said less to,” Candiace confessed.
Sutton shared that she wouldn’t be game to be on RHOP due to the frigid east coast weather and Candiace revealed that she never really warmed up to The Real Housewives of New York City.
“I never really got into New York. I don’t know why, because I know it’s a very popular show,” Candiace said.
The reality star said that she had questioned her role on the show many times after experiencing “stressful moments,” hinting at her explosive confrontation with former co-star, Monique Samuels.
“There have been absolutely moments where I said to myself, ‘Candiace, what are you doing? Maybe you would be better off going into the abyss and living in your, in a hole in your house, happily ever after,’” Candiace revealed. “So sometimes yeah, I do wish I could just kind of go back to being quiet, living a quiet life. It’s hard. It’s a job. And there have been a lot of stressful moments where it’s been like, ‘Okay, is this really what I want to do because my hair’s falling out, I’m losing weight. It’s too much sometimes… [But I stay] because I’m the kind of woman that is never going to let anyone run me off.”
Candiace guessed that her “Most Iconic Moment” would be her butter knife showdown with co-star, Ashley Darby.
“It’s probably the butter knife. I’m so tired of the freaking butter knife,” she remarked.
However, Bravo chose Candiace’s “I came from Jesus” revelation as their top pick, which occurred during Season 3, her debut season.
“That was like my first Housewives attack and you know, any time you’re sitting at a dinner table, prepare for mutiny to be afoot. I was not prepared,” she shared. “I remember my heart beating so fast because contrary to popular belief, I don’t love conflict. It makes me uncomfortable. I remember picking up my glass of Malbec and my hand was shaking.”
