Andy Cohen GOES OFF Over Jen Shah’s Guilty Plea ‘She Lied For So Long!’
Andy Cohen has finally reacted to news of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, Jen Shah’s, guilty plea in court.
Bravo star, Jen Shah, entered a guilty plea on Monday, a week before she was set to go on trial over fraud charges. Jen is accused of ripping off the elderly in a telemarketing fraud scheme that made her millions. Shah pleaded guilty in hopes that she won’t serve the 30 years she is facing but instead a reduced sentence of 11 to 14 years. Real Housewives executive producer, Andy Cohen, said that Jen’s recent guilty plea made him very upset. “I’m upset, and I’m especially upset for the victims.”
Andy spoke about the shocking news on his Sirius XM show, Andy Cohen Live. “I’m upset that she lied for so long and claimed to me that she was an example of someone being wrongly accused.” Cohen also added during his show that when he saw Jen’s proclamation of innocence during The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion, he really thought she deserved her day in court. However, after her guilty plea, Cohen said he was upset and disappointed because he had gotten to like Jen Shah and was actually cheering her on.
The celebrity host added that he couldn’t react to the news when it broke on Monday because he was filming his show, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “I did not have time to read anything about it, process it — we were on the air. I really didn’t have time to react, process it.” Still, Andy says he would love to talk to Jen about the case and why she did what she did. “I have a lot of questions for her, and I’m sure the audience, especially those who supported her and stood by her, does too. I really hope to get the opportunity to speak with her and to ask those questions.”
Jen Shah’s sentencing date has been set for November 2022. According to Andy Cohen, Jen filmed the entire season 2 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. However, it is unclear if her recent guilty plea was also part of the show. Jen’s arrest in 2021, however, was caught by Bravo cameras. Shah’s lawyer, Priya Chaudry, addressed her client’s guilty plea to Page Six saying, “Jen pled guilty because she wants to pay her debt to society and put this ordeal behind her and her family. Ms. Shah is a good woman who crossed a line. She accepts full responsibility for her actions and deeply apologizes to all who have been harmed.”
