Diana Jenkins Backpedals After Outraged Fans Drag ‘RHOBH’ Newbie Over Racist Clapback!
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Diana Jenkins, has apologized for making a “racially insensitive” remark after getting into an Instagram beef with “Philly Diva,” a black woman who runs a Bravo fan account.
The 49-year-old reality star landed in a feud with Kristen Dionne on Thursday after the Instagram user reposted a throwback photo of the Bravo newbie alongside a much more recent pic. The side-by-side snaps illustrated how much Diana’s face had changed over several years.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina native took to the comment section to weigh in on the post.
Diana wrote—“That picture was actually taken At UCLA law school talking about war crimes in my country and setting up human rights clinic that i financed Before war criminals were brought to justice.”
“I was probably 20 or 30 Pounds skinnier and having glam was last thing on my mind,” she continued. “Also looks like picture is manipulated. But shame on you!!!! You and your bulls–t shopping!!!”
Dionne pointed out that being a Bravo star comes with social media feedback, responding—“Holy 💩 you had time today!! But the fact is…. both pics are you. However neither of them look alike! Welcome to the bravo-sphere!”
Fans know that Diana’s storyline has largely revolved around her extravagant lifestyle and out-of-touch attitude following her 2011 divorce from wealthy British financier, Roger Jenkins.
Dionne pushed Diana to “keep that same energy with the rest of Instagram that thinks you have no storyline and should be fired. But shout out to my brand new page!”
Diana fired back—“It can’t feel good being a Black content creator.”
It didn’t take long for outraged fans to blast the Bravo newbie for her comment.
“Ur [sic] know ur done for this comment.. right???” one viewer asked.
Another said—“This is soooo out of line. Bravo needs to see this. I truly hope this gets back 👏 her comment was distasteful and out of line. She’s r@cist! She just exposed her hand.”
“Wow! being a housewife, the audience generally weighs in since it’s for our entertainment,” a third fan remarked. “Memes are the smallest thing. It may not feel good, but i can’t imagine resulting to racism?? What the hell was that comment???”
Many fans tagged Bravo executive, Andy Cohen, in their comments.
Diana wrote on Friday morning that Crystal Kung Minkoff had awakened her with a “screaming” phone call, demanding an explanation. Fans know that Crystal and Sutton Stracke have been embroiled in drama over Sutton making an allegedly “dark” racially charged comment last season.
“I assumed ‘Black content creator’ was a title referring to a page that would be focused on snarky content,” Diana explained. “I copied the term because I thought that’s what it meant. I didn’t realize it was referencing to you as a Black woman and a content creator.”
The reality star added—“Please understand i am not from this country @philly.diva so deeply sorry. I’m devastated that this was taken to mean something racially insensitive. I understand now why it was taken that way and that was never my intention. I am truly sorry.”
Dionne claimed that she never received the apology because she had been allegedly blocked by Diana. She added that she questioned why the Bravo star paid any attention to her fan account and not accounts of “white creators that have posted the same picture with FAR MORE FOLLOWERS.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 pm, ET, on Bravo.
