Dr. Jen Armstrong’s Reason For Splitting From Ryne Holliday — Demands Three Homes And No Spousal Support For Ex!

Real Housewives of Orange County star, Dr. Jen Armstrong, filed for a legal separation from Ryne Holliday for the good of their family, according to a new report by Page Six. 

“There was no specific catalyst for the filing,” a source told the outlet. “After their first trial separation in September [2021], Jen and Ryne were still in limbo and Jen felt like she needed to take this step to improve their family dynamic.”

The insider continued—“The issues they’ve been having are the same issues that played out on the show. But all is amicable and they are committed to keeping their kids stable and happy.”  

Jen and Ryne treated their children, twins, Cece and Vince, 10, and son, Robert, 9, to a fun day at Disneyland, last week. 

“What a ✨magical✨ day in Disneyland with the family! 🪄♥️😍 thank you @disneyland for the amazing tour and day filled with laughs, smiles, and pure magic!!!!” Jen captioned a series of family photos, on Instagram. “Feeling like a little kid again! ♥️🖤🪄✨🍊”

The 44-year-old Bravo star filed for the legal split on May 13 in Orange County Superior Court. Jen and Ryne have been married for almost eight years. The cosmetic doctor listed September 8, 2021, as their separation date, citing irreconcilable differences. 

Jen is asking for legal and physical custody of their three children with visitation granted to her ex. The reality star is requesting that a judge terminate Ryne’s option to collect spousal support, and wants to keep sole ownership of her business. Court documents reveal that she included a property/assets list in her filing and asked to maintain ownership of all items “acquired prior to marriage and after the date of separation.” She has agreed to take responsibility of the mortgages of homes located in Honolulu, Laguna Beach, and Newport Beach. She added that she will only accept responsibility for one-half of a $750k personal loan from her mother.

Jen spoke to Page Six in February and revealed that the couple’s first separation, which occurred after Bravo cameras filmed their ongoing marital woes, proved to be a “healing” experience. 

“I’m just going to be honest. We actually separated. We separated and then lived life without each other,” she said at the time. “Sometimes I think you need to get a little shaken up before you really appreciate the other person.”

Jen and Ryne grappled over feeling mutually unappreciated within their relationship. Jen owns and operates “Advanced Skincare Dermatology and Plastic Surgery” and Ryne is a business owner and stay-at-home dad. 

“We really went into it not thinking that we were going to get back together,” Jen shared, noting that she felt optimistic about the couple’s marriage.

“Ryne came back and he was very genuine and very kind and has been loving,” she explained. “That’s the person [I fell in love with]. I’ll take that person every day. I’m like, ‘Where’ve you been? Where’ve you been for the last 12 years? We missed you!’”

Jen shared her hope that their breakup ultimately strengthens them as individuals, amid an uncertain future. 

“Ryne and I are taking some time apart to focus on ourselves and our children,” she said in a statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday. “While we are very sad, we are hoping that we will heal and be even stronger as a family. We ask for patience as we navigate this new chapter in our lives.” 

Jen, who made her “Housewives” debut on Season 16, revealed in March that the couple was selling their $6 million Newport Beach, California home, to start over with a “clean slate.”  

“We are hoping our new home is a place for a clean slate … to work on our marriage and family,” she said.

Jen hinted during a subsequent reunion exchange with Andy Cohen that Ryne might not be included in her next move.
