Gina Kirschenheiter SLAMS Katie Ginella, Says She Makes the Cast Feel ‘Unsafe’
Orange County just got messier. Gina Kirschenheiter is calling out newbie Katie Ginella after it was revealed she secretly recorded Shannon Beador during a meltdown — a move Gina says left the cast feeling “unsafe.”
On the August 14 episode of Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea, Gina didn’t hold back. “It’s never bad enough to record anyone. It would never be my instinct. And I think the fact that that’s her instinct is what the problem is. When your instinct is [to] record? Problem! It’s just as simple as that, right?” Gina said.
Although Gina admitted she didn’t personally hear the audio, she didn’t deny that Shannon might have been spiraling. “I’m quite certain that Shannon probably was losing her sh*t,” she added. “But she also was having, like, the worst year of her life.”
As fans know, Shannon was sued by ex John Janssen for allegedly owing $75,000 for a facelift, only for him to get engaged to Alexis Bellino soon after. For Gina, recording Shannon at such a vulnerable time felt “icky” and “violating.” “Don’t record it. Go into the next day of filming and tell Shannon,” Gina said she told Katie, adding that her future on RHOC might’ve looked a lot brighter if she hadn’t pulled the stunt.
Katie did apologize to Shannon — but it wasn’t enough. She’s now on the outs with nearly the entire cast, except Tamra Judge. “I just think her instinct is different than what the show really calls for,” Gina concluded.
And the drama didn’t stop there. Katie, who once aligned herself with Jennifer Pedranti and Gretchen Rossi, recently blasted them over a “hurtful and inappropriate” video that came across as mocking Asians.
Gretchen defended herself in response, telling Page Six: “The video we made was not directed at Gina and was not meant to be hateful. Once it was addressed to us that it could be taken offensively, we took it down immediately.”
Between secret recordings, racial controversy, and fractured alliances, it looks like Season 19 of The Real Housewives of Orange County will be one of the messiest yet. And Gina’s made her stance crystal clear — recording your castmate might be the ultimate Bravo betrayal.
