Kenya Moore SUED by Landlord for $30K Over Hair Spa… Fires Back with Massive Countersuit While Facing Eviction!
Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore is being sued for nearly $30K over her hair spa—and she’s firing back with a six-figure countersuit while facing eviction.
The drama began in April 2025 when Moore Vision Media, the company behind Kenya’s beauty business Kenya Moore Hair Spa, was hit with a lawsuit and eviction notice filed by Northland Chamblee, LLC—the property owner of The Deco at 5211. The landlord accused Kenya, 54, of failing to pay five months’ worth of rent totaling $21,897, along with an additional $5,909 in operating expenses. They also sought future rent at a daily rate of $149.98.
But Kenya wasn’t about to let that narrative stand.
Two months later, she fired back with a countersuit demanding more than $89,000 in damages, claiming breach of contract and legal fees. Due to the amount exceeding the jurisdiction of Magistrate Court, both sides have agreed to move the legal showdown to Superior Court.
In a recent video shared on her YouTube channel, Kenya addressed the controversy head-on and shared her side of the story. “I had a dispute with the landlord. The landlord hasn’t given me back my TIA—that’s tenant improvement allowance,” she explained.
“I was allotted $79,000-some-hundred dollars to improve this place. I built an entire second floor. I have not gotten a penny back from that.” She added, “So if I’m not paying rent and they’re not paying me TIA, we’re at an end path. So something has got to give.”
While the court case unfolds, fans have noticed the salon has appeared quiet and “empty” in recent weeks, sparking speculation about the spa’s future. Kenya’s business has also been under fire for other reasons—most notably, she faced criticism online for not using 4C hair models to promote her brand, stirring up conversation about inclusivity and representation in the natural hair space.
Despite the challenges, Kenya remains determined. “So whether that means I’m gonna be in here next year, next month, next week, we’ll see … But I’m just going to climb, regardless of whether I’m here or not,” she said in the video.
Meanwhile, Kenya will not be appearing on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17. While Bravo has yet to confirm the official cast lineup, rumors suggest a well-known restaurateur and a former Love & Hip Hop star are expected to join the franchise as the show undergoes another major shakeup.
