Aaron Phypers Claims Denise Richards Is a Drug Addict After She Accused Him of Domestic Abuse
The divorce between Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers has escalated into a bitter war of words, with both parties publicly accusing each other of abuse, deception, and addiction.
Aaron, 49, who recently filed for divorce from Denise, 54, citing irreconcilable differences, issued a detailed letter to friends and family obtained by Page Six, in which he alleged Denise suffers from a long-term addiction to Vicodin and has been engaged in an “ongoing” affair.
In the letter, Aaron expressed deep concern for Denise Richards’ well-being, claiming her alleged addiction has placed their 14-year-old daughter, Eloise, in danger.
“For nearly a decade, she has struggled with an addiction to Vicodin (which she jokingly calls ‘Vitamin D’ or ‘white chestnuts’), mixed with Adderall and tequila,” Aaron Phypers wrote. “Some of you know this has been an issue for over 20 years. She’s no longer eating real meals, and I’ve witnessed her pass out from substances — putting herself and others in danger, including while driving with our daughter.”
Aaron also accused Denise of having an affair with another man, stating he discovered explicit messages earlier this year. “She begged me not to leave, saying it was nothing and that she only loved me,” he wrote.
“Then, she denied it all — even the explicit messages I found. Despite her promise to stop, more lies and shocking evidence emerged.”
Denise responded to the deteriorating marriage with her own serious claims. Last week, she was granted a restraining order against Aaron. In court documents, Denise included photos of a bruised face and alleged a long history of physical abuse throughout their relationship.
“Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack,” Denise Richards stated in her filing.
She also alleged Aaron Phypers threatened to kill her and himself if she ever contacted authorities. Both parties referenced an explosive incident on July 4, which Aaron listed as the official date of separation in his divorce petition.
According to Aaron, the argument began when Denise accused him of using her credit card to order food for their daughter. He alleged that Richards smashed his phone and hid it in the trash.
“After searching for over 20 hours and being physically attacked when I asked for it back, I eventually found it smashed inside a trash bag, hidden beneath rotting garbage and litter,” he claimed. Denise, however, told the court Aaron Phypers was the aggressor. “Over the course of nearly two hours, Aaron repeatedly got within two inches of my face and screamed at me degrading profanities, including calling me a ‘c–t whore’ and a ‘piece of s–t’ and screaming at me, ‘Nobody likes you,’” she alleged.
Aaron denied ever physically harming Denise.
“I have never, ever physically harmed my wife, and I did not give her a black eye,” he wrote. “I have only ever stepped in to protect her or others — including separating her from physically attacking her daughter — always coming from a place of care and concern.”
He further alleged that he and his parents had been mistreated and stalked, claiming an AirTag was placed on his car and his family was harassed for supporting him. “This isn’t just a relationship breaking down. It’s a cry for help,” Aaron concluded, asking loved ones to pray for Denise.
A source close to Aaron told the Daily Mail that a photo of Richards’ bruised face, included in her court filings, was from a separate incident in winter 2022 and was allegedly the result of her falling while intoxicated.
Phypers is seeking spousal support as part of the ongoing divorce proceedings. Richards has not publicly responded to his latest claims.
