Teddi Mellencamp’s Body Shuts Down Amid Cancer Fight After Scary Home Robbery

Teddi Mellencamp’s health took a sudden nosedive in her stage 4 cancer battle — just days after intruders targeted her family’s home.

The 44-year-old reality star and co-host of the Two T’s in a Pod podcast revealed during Wednesday’s episode that she is pausing immunotherapy treatment due to debilitating side effects. “Essentially, I haven’t been feeling good for about a month, which was kind of shocking to me, and I think, mentally did a lot to me,” Teddi shared candidly. Despite undergoing surgeries and beginning both radiation and immunotherapy, she explained that her health took a sudden downturn.

“Why do I feel like I can barely open my eyes or keep my words straight?” Teddi recalled asking herself, as her energy levels plummeted and symptoms worsened.

After a visit to her doctor, Mellencamp was told that her severe physical decline was being caused by the very treatment meant to help her heal.

“They did a bunch of scans and everything’s looking good, everything’s shrinking,” she said. “They’re not seeing a bunch but so it’s showing that why I medically feel so sick is from the immunotherapy.” While the results of her scans are encouraging, Teddi and her medical team have decided to temporarily pause the immunotherapy to allow her body to recover.

“So we’re going to take a little break on the immunotherapy to get my body back feeling stronger. And I’m on steroids and we’re doing everything that we can to get me back to feeling like I can do this, I can do all the things.”

The mom of three admitted that the shift in her strength and independence has been emotionally painful. “I’ve never once felt that way until recently, and it’s it’s heartbreaking.” In the midst of her health crisis, Teddi and her family faced another frightening situation—an attempted home invasion.

Just days ago, burglars tried to break into her Los Angeles home while she and her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave were inside with their children.

“Thankfully, their security system worked, the police got there quickly and the perpetrators ran away,” a source told Page Six. In a joint statement, Teddi and Edwin said, “We are grateful that everyone is unharmed. While we are shaken, we are fortunate to have the latest in home security systems, which scared off the intruders. Authorities were alerted and swiftly responded. We appreciate everyone’s heightened concern in light of recent criminal activities in our area, but we are safe.”

As she focuses on regaining strength, Teddi remains open with fans about both her triumphs and struggles — hoping her journey can inspire others fighting similar battles.
