Dr. Heavenly Kimes Jumps Into Politics — She’s Running For Georgia State Rep and The Internet Losing Its Mind!
Dr. Heavenly Kimes is officially entering the world of politics. The Married to Medicine star — known for her work as a cosmetic dentist, entrepreneur, and community advocate — has announced her candidacy for Georgia State Representative in District 93 on the Democratic ticket.
“I’m not a career politician. I’m a mom, a doctor, a business owner — and I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe in,” Kimes, 54, says in a statement. “I’m running to serve, and I’m ready to work.”
Campaign Kickoff in Atlanta
Kimes will launch her campaign with a community rally on Tuesday, July 8 at 5 p.m. outside the Georgia State Capitol in downtown Atlanta. The event is open to the public, and supporters are encouraged to attend wearing “Dr. Heavenly for Georgia” T-shirts. According to a press release, attendees are invited to “bring their energy for an unforgettable moment in Atlanta history.”
Focus on Healthcare and Small Business Support
Kimes says her campaign will center on healthcare access, economic prosperity, education reform, and small business support. She cites her experiences working with patients and entrepreneurs as the driving force behind her decision to run.
“I’ve spent my life helping people build confidence, start businesses, and take control of their futures,” she says. “Now I’m bringing that same passion to the State Capitol. District 93 deserves someone who’s not just talking, but doing.”
Longtime Bravo Favorite
Bravo viewers were first introduced to Kimes during season 2 of Married to Medicine, where her candid and direct approach quickly made her a fan favorite. Over the years, she has remained a central figure on the series, sharing her life as a doctor, businesswoman, and mother.
Outside of the show, Kimes owns multiple dental practices and runs Dr. Heavenly University, where she mentors aspiring professionals.
“Our people deserve real representation, someone who understands both the struggles and the solutions,” Kimes says.
Following in Other Bravo Stars’ Footsteps
Kimes isn’t the first Bravo personality to enter politics. Real Housewives of New York City friend Barbara Kavovit made headlines when she ran for New York City mayor in 2021. Meanwhile, Southern Charm alum Thomas Ravenel — a former South Carolina state treasurer — announced earlier this year that he plans to run for Governor of South Carolina in 2026.
Cameras Rolling on New Season
Filming is currently underway for season 12 of Married to Medicine. It has not yet been confirmed how much of Kimes’ political journey will be featured on the show. However, she already has the support of at least one cast member: Quad Webb is serving as her campaign manager.
