Lisa Hochstein & Jody Glidden Shut Down Cocaine Rumors After RHOM Scene, Blast Producers for Manipulative Editing!
Lisa Hochstein and her boyfriend Jody Glidden are setting the record straight after a scene from The Real Housewives of Miami sparked intense fan speculation online.
During the June 11 season premiere of RHOM, Jody, 51, was heard telling friends, “We’re going for a shot and some AC,” before adding, “In my room. Wanna go?” — prompting some viewers to question whether “AC” was code for cocaine. As the social media chatter intensified, Lisa, 42, took to Instagram to clarify what really happened that night, calling the edited episode a “gross misrepresentation” of reality.
“I can’t believe I have to address such ridiculous rumors,” Lisa wrote, “but last night’s RHOM episode was a gross misrepresentation of what actually happened and manipulated editing.”
She also offered additional context about the scene in question, explaining that the suite referenced was not a hidden space, but their regular gathering area for close friends.
“Jody and our non-cast friends were hanging out in our primary suite and lounge area which we use as a common space with friends and family — they were not crowded in some solitary bathroom,” she explained. “Our friends did not want to be filmed, so they sought out privacy in our hangout spot.” Lisa added, “Any implication beyond that reality is completely false and upsetting. And for the record, AC = Air Conditioning, something essential in Miami!”
Meanwhile, Jody shared his own lengthy response, expressing frustration at the assumptions while maintaining that the reality was far more mundane.
“Sigh… I live in Miami and I’m a grown man. If I were doing that, who cares? It’s probably a safe assumption for 50% of Miami,” Jody wrote, adding, “It just happens that I’m a fitness fanatic that barely drinks.” He went on to explain why he and his friends were off-camera: “Most of my friends don’t like to be on camera either. But they came to support me on my birthday, not to be on a TV show…”
“You will also notice that they are barely in the background after they enter. Most immediately go in with all our friends [into] my other living room that’s in my master suite and stay there.”
“It’s not some little bathroom. It’s a whole other birthday,” he continued. “And none of us want to hang around in the 95-degree living room with wide open doors when there’s a whole other birthday in my master suite with working AC.” Jody also addressed the show’s editing, stating, “[The scene] was added just to explain why I wasn’t in the room during the argument.”
“Spoiler: I’m barely ever in any group scenes because this isn’t my thing. I’m there to support Lisa, not get pulled into chaos. I’m not a cast member, and I have a daughter, so I think the drama should be centered around those that want to be there,” he added.
The Real Housewives of Miami airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
