The drama is heating up once again on Basketball Wives, and at the center of it is the fractured friendship between longtime castmates Evelyn Lozada and Jennifer Williams. The latest fallout stems from Evelyn voicing concerns about Jennifer’s husband, Christian Gold—concerns that ultimately cost her a close friendship.
This season, Christian Gold faced accusations of running a Ponzi scheme and misleading clients. He initially told Jennifer Williams he owed $250,000 in restitution, but court records revealed the true amount was $12,500. Christian and his attorney confirmed the lower figure, and Jennifer said she offered to help pay it off. Evelyn Lozada stayed silent at first to avoid drama, but spoke up after Carl Crawford’s cousin accused Christian of taking $1,500 through his investment program.
In retaliation, Jennifer brought Evelyn’s daughter into it—pointing out Shaniece had a baby with rapper The Game, who also has a criminal record.
From there, things escalated quickly on social media, and now Christian is firing back too. During a recent Instagram Live, Christian addressed Evelyn directly, accusing her of using him for a storyline.
“And Evelyn, if you’re looking for another storyline next season, look elsewhere, please,” he said. “Now I’m talking to you since you don’t want to see me face to face. Now I’m talking to you and I don’t give a **** about what the network says.”
Jennifer added in the background, “She ain’t got nothing going on.” Christian didn’t hold back, continuing, “I can tell you I don’t give a **** how many producers, executives are on this ******* live. How many times have y’all called me and I’m like I’m not filming? Because I don’t do all the ********.”
He then claimed producers were pushing a narrative to “chastise a Black man,” adding that he’d only participated for the sake of Jennifer’s storyline.
“I did it because my wife is really the one with the storyline,” he said. “So of course I’m gonna show up. And I’m looking at things for the future… maybe like get our own [show].” Despite the public back and forth, Evelyn has remained firm in her stance, reportedly telling those close to her that protecting her peace and staying true to her values mattered more than a fractured friendship.
As for what comes next? With tensions reaching new highs and the cast still filming, the drama is far from over.
