Shamea Morton Reveals She Regrets Joining RHOA and Cries Over Broken Friendship With Porsha Williams!

Shamea Morton is opening up about the emotional fallout of her strained friendship with Porsha Williams, revealing just how deeply the tension has impacted her behind the scenes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16.

During the RHOA After Show for Episode 11, Shamea broke down while discussing the unraveling of her decades-long bond with Porsha — a friendship that began in childhood and appeared to fracture as soon as Shamea secured her full-time peach this season.

“I’ve gotten so many DMs and messages,” Shamea said, visibly emotional. “Even to those, I still give grace because it’s hurtful. And the stuff that people have said, ‘Oh, I wanted to tell you a long time ago that your friend ain’t your friend, and she don’t want you in this space with her. She don’t want to share this platform with you…’”

The moment became overwhelming for Shamea, who tearfully asked producers for a break and walked off set. As her co-star Kelli Ferrell looked on, she shared, “I really hate that for her.”

While backstage, Shamea’s mic picked up her raw and candid reflections as Kelli consoled her. “I didn’t want to do this s–t for the longest time because … I was being respectful of the fact that this is her space,” Shamea admitted.

“I just wanted it to be OK. Like, ya know, this is your thing. I don’t need this. I’m happy with the life I’m living off-camera, ya know? … But I thought we could be like, we could show people, like, how great our friendship is.” Thanks to what she described as a “little power speech” from Kelli, Shamea eventually returned to the set, regaining her composure and joking about being on “some cry s–t.”

Earlier in the After Show, Shamea shared that castmates Angela Oakley, Brit Eady, and Drew Sidora had all questioned Porsha’s loyalty as a friend.

She expressed disappointment that Porsha’s actions allowed others to critique their friendship.

“But I never gave them anything,” Shamea said. “So the fact that [Porsha] opened that up for them to judge and evaluate and dictate our friendship and what it was and what it was not, that’s on her.” Shamea also spoke about her efforts to support Porsha over the years, from promoting her single “Flatline” on Instagram to inviting her to sing the national anthem at sporting events. “I want you to win just like I want to win,” she said.

Meanwhile, Porsha reflected on how things shifted once Shamea joined the cast full-time — something she claimed she initially celebrated.

“The worst thing was the other women pitting us against each other,” Porsha shared, referencing their emotional sit-down in Episode 11.

“I just wanted to really get into the nitty-gritty of what was happening. … That’s what I was really fighting for at that point.” Despite the on-air fallout, it’s clear that for both women, the loss of their once-close friendship is still fresh — and still very painful.
