Edwin Arroyave Pushes Divorce Forward as Teddi Mellencamp Battles Stage 4 Cancer!
Teddi Mellencamp and estranged husband Edwin Arroyave are making moves in their ongoing divorce, as Edwin recently filed new court documents detailing his finances and assets.
According to filings obtained by In Touch Weekly on May 12, Edwin, 48, submitted a formal breakdown of his current income, expenses, assets, and debts—along with a summary of both his and Teddi’s community and separate property. The update comes after the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 43, temporarily paused the divorce due to her battle with brain cancer.
In his initial response to Teddi’s November 2024 divorce petition, Edwin asserted that any assets or income each party acquired—outside of what’s otherwise agreed upon—should be considered separate property.
“The full nature and extent of [Edwin’s] separate property is not fully known to [Edwin] at this time,” the filing read. “[Edwin] will amend this Response… as more information becomes available.”
Teddi had already turned over her own financial disclosures back in February, fulfilling part of the court’s procedural requirements.
While the divorce proceedings have been ongoing, Teddi has been facing a personal health battle. Diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma that has spread to her brain and lungs, she has undergone multiple surgeries and treatments. Despite the challenges, Teddi recently shared a hopeful update, revealing that her tumors have significantly shrunk and doctors are optimistic about the effectiveness of her treatment.
Amid her health crisis, Edwin has remained supportive.
He explained on a podcast that caring for Teddi was instinctive due to their shared history, stating, “No matter what, I will always love Teddi, and she’s been a big part of my life.
Teddi is also facing a $2 million discrimination lawsuit filed by Julia Umana, a 71-year-old former employee who alleges Teddi treated her unequally because of her ethnicity. Julia, an immigrant from El Salvador, claims Teddi gave preferential treatment to her white staff. Teddi has strongly denied the allegations and is reportedly planning a legal response to clear her name.
