Gia Giudice Claims Riley Burruss Got ‘Offended’ When She Compared RHOA to RHONJ!
Gia Giudice says Riley Burruss was “offended” when she compared The Real Housewives of New Jersey to The Real Housewives of Atlanta — and the tension is already brewing ahead of their Next Gen NYC debut.
In a new episode of her Casual Chaos podcast, Gia, 24, sat down with Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania, 54, to talk about the upcoming show and her interactions with the other cast members. One moment in particular — a conversation Gia had with Riley — is now making waves.
“Riley, Kandi’s daughter, I actually said to her once, ‘I feel like Atlanta and Jersey give the same energy.’ She got really offended by that,” Gia shared.
Dolores seemed surprised and asked why Riley had such a strong reaction. “She like looked at me and said, ‘No. They’re very different.’ I said, ‘Okay,’” Gia explained. Dolores added her own take: “Doesn’t look like that to me.”
Gia agreed, noting how shocked she was by Riley’s response. “I was very surprised, but she got very offended when I said that,” she added. Dolores replied, “That’s not nice.” Gia went on to say that the comment came from a place of trying to connect with Riley, not to create tension. “That was me trying to relate to her,” Gia explained. “Like, both of our moms are on Housewives, were on Housewives.”
Dolores offered her some simple but telling advice in response to the awkward moment: “Well, right off the bat, then you know that that’s the pace of the relationship that you’ll have with that person.”
The exchange has sparked mixed reactions across social media, with some fans defending Gia’s attempt at finding common ground, while others accused her of being dismissive of RHOA’s unique identity. Riley herself hasn’t publicly commented on the resurfaced podcast moment, but many are keeping a close eye to see how the dynamic plays out on screen.
Next Gen NYC premieres June 3 on Bravo.
