RECAP: Garcelle Beauvais Confronted By Dorit Kemsley During ‘RHOBH’ Reunion
During part one of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 reunion, Sutton Stracke is in the hot seat, Erika Jayne reacts to Tom Girardi’s fraud conviction and Garcelle Beauvais is confronted over comments she made about Dorit Kemsley’s home invasion.
Dorit and PK: A Relationship in Crisis
The episode begins with a compilation of moments featuring Dorit Kemsley and her separated spouse, PK. This season, Dorit told anyone that would listen that PK is “a full-blown alcoholic.” Additionally, viewers are reminded of the notable instance when she was spotted smoking in her vehicle.
When Andy mentioned that fans “loved” seeing her smoke, she was visibly taken aback. “That’s wild. Really wild,” she remarked. She admitted to being “a social smoker” but acknowledged that in recent years, it has turned into a “stress smoker” habit. Andy then inquired if PK had sent Kyle Richards a meme about it, to which she simply responded, “No.”
Andy then steered the discussion toward Dorit and PK’s choice not to inform their children about their separation. Despite some skepticism, she remains firm in her decision. Are the kids now aware? “You know, they are not asking the questions. So, I think that when they see PK and I friendly, and there’s peace, and we’re happy, they’re okay,” Dorit explained.
When asked if she was postponing telling them in hopes of reconciliation, she quickly refuted that idea. “More recently, I see less and less of a chance,” she admitted.
Andy followed up by asking, “Are you still in love with him?” Without hesitation, she answered, “Yeah. He’s my soul. He’s my blood; he’s my heart, and I hate that because it makes it so much more difficult. But I also know I need peace.”
PK’s Absence and Statement at the Reunion
Although PK opted out of attending the reunion, he sent a written response. The message included the following:
“I was invited to be part of the Reunion but declined because I don’t believe engaging with Dorit in this forum would be constructive. Dorit has made several mischaracterizations about me, but the one I must address is the claim that I am a bad father. The statement is both heartbreaking and false.”
His message continued, stating, “It is deeply hurtful to me, and more importantly, to our children, who, despite Dorit’s assertion, will inevitably see and hear all of this at a time not of our choosing. The Dorit I married would never have allowed this, much less caused it. That woman embodied kindness, integrity, and grace. I can only hope that this version of Dorit finds her way back to the person she once was.”
Has Fame Changed Dorit?
Andy then shifted gears, questioning Kyle on whether “fame has changed Dorit.” Kyle reflected, “I think this season I saw a Dorit that I didn’t know.” She described Dorit’s demeanor as “angry” and “more aggressive than usual.”
The discussion then touched on Dorit referring to PK as “the monster” and discussing his temper. Kyle, in a confessional, admitted she had never seen that side of PK. “You’re supposed to know me way better than you know him,” Dorit shot back at Kyle. “Because you only have a relationship where you have memes and jokes.”
Kyle expressed discomfort with Dorit portraying PK as both an alcoholic and a bad father, considering he wasn’t present to respond. Sutton agreed, saying, “To me, it looked like you were throwing your husband under the bus.” Kyle also suspected Dorit was “exaggerating” when discussing both herself and PK.
PK’s Sobriety in Question
Andy asked how long PK had remained sober. “It’s not a topic we discuss, as I discovered very recently,” Dorit confessed. “So, I couldn’t answer that.” The room fell silent.
“Wait, is he not sober?” Erika whispered. “I guess not,” Boz responded. Andy observed that it seemed as though PK was no longer sober, but Dorit refrained from explicitly stating it.
“I have no idea. His exact words are, ‘It’s something I’m choosing not to discuss with you,'” Dorit shared. She admitted that this caused her “huge” concerns. “In fact… I said, ‘The way you’re making me feel in this moment, I don’t think I can have a relationship with you. Even a friendship.'”
The tension was briefly broken when Erika noticed the round table in the room and asked, “Is that my living room table?” The group laughed, offering a moment of relief.
Financial Troubles?
Andy then addressed rumors about Dorit and PK’s home facing foreclosure. Dorit clarified that it was in “pre-foreclosure.” She claimed she was unaware, explaining that PK had contacted the lender regarding their mortgage rate. When they did not return his call, he ceased payments. Eventually, PK resolved the matter.
At present, Dorit has distanced herself from PK. He spends Saturdays with their children when he is in town. “I think I’m realizing more and more each day that what I really believed was going to be my future may not be,” she admitted. “And I think that realization is really f*cking hard.”
Garcelle, Sutton, and the Reality of Reality TV
Andy noted that Erika had previously stated she wanted to see more of Sutton and Garcelle’s personal lives. “We want the juicy scoop,” Erika reiterated. Garcelle countered, insisting there was nothing left to show.
Regarding her romantic life, she admitted to a couple of dates with one individual. “Do you know something?” she asked Erika.
“No, I wish you were more interesting, I guess,” Erika quipped. Andy’s jaw dropped. “Well, that’s a sh*tty thing to say, Erika. That’s a sh*tty thing to say,” Garcelle responded.
Kyle weighed in, stating she had shared much of her life over the years. Garcelle, however, pointed out inconsistencies regarding Kyle’s friend Morgan. “Last year, Morgan was part of the show. We met her. And all of a sudden this year, it was like, you’re going to bring her up,” she remarked.
Kyle explained, “She didn’t sign up for the show this season.” Garcelle replied, “She came on as a favor to me.”
The discussion grew more heated as Kyle said, “The two of you together are mean girls.”
Home Invasion Controversy
Andy revisited Garcelle’s comments on Dorit’s home invasion possibly being staged. “This was my feeling,” Garcelle stated but refused to discuss it further.
“You feel it was a set-up?” Andy asked. “Yeah. I do,” she answered. Dorit denied any evidence supporting that claim. “Then I’m wrong,” Garcelle conceded, adding, “I am sorry if it hurts you. This is how I feel.”
Dorit accused Garcelle of implying that either she or PK orchestrated it. “I didn’t say you or your husband. Do not put that in my mouth,” Garcelle shot back.
“You intimated that it was PK,” Dorit asserted. “No, I did not!” Garcelle exclaimed.
“Who else would it be?” Kyle asked. “I don’t know who else it could be,” Garcelle responded. Dorit maintained that Garcelle had insinuated PK was involved, but Garcelle denied it. Flashback footage from nine months prior was then played.
In the clip, Garcelle was seen saying, “You know, when I said last year about her jewelry and the robbery, I don’t think Dorit had anything to do with that. But I think someone did.”
Back at the reunion, Garcelle was exasperated with the ongoing discussion. However, Dorit continued. “Was I the only one that felt that way?” Garcelle asked.
“You tell me who else! Your four other people from Twitter?” Dorit retorted. Boz intervened, addressing the “repercussions” of making accusations without proof. “I think it’s dangerous of you to say,” Boz added. “I think it is actually really, really, really terrible.”
Garcelle apologized, though Dorit continued speaking. Whether she actually heard the apology remains unknown.
