Teresa Giudice Praises Luis Ruelas’ Business Acumen Amid $3M Tax Debt
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is standing by her husband Luis Ruelas, praising his business achievements and character — even as he faces over $2.5 million in tax liens.
In a candid interview on the March 25 episode of the Michelle Barone RED podcast, Teresa, 52, opened up about her husband’s financial situation, her regrets about reality TV, raising daughters in the spotlight, and the infamous RHONJ moment that made her a household name.
Teresa Reflects on Luis’ Success: “He Took His Company Public”
Despite recent headlines surrounding multiple tax liens filed against Luis, Teresa expressed nothing but admiration for his accomplishments.
“To me, whoever takes their company public, I think is amazing, and my husband took his company public the day before he met me,” she shared during the interview.
Teresa added that a psychic once predicted she would meet a man from Wall Street who wore a suit—a dream her late mother shared for her. “My mom always wanted me to be with a guy that wore a suit. And I did pray to my parents,” she said.
“He Has the Best Heart Ever”
Teresa also addressed criticism and questions about Luis’ background, which have surfaced on RHONJ and in the press.
“He is so amazing, and poor guy got a bad rap because unfortunately my family members and [Margaret Josephs] talking to people from his past,” Teresa said.
When podcast host Michelle Barone stated that Luis has no “shady business” dealings to be concerned about, Teresa agreed.
“No, no,” she insisted. “If anything, unfortunately… he has the best heart ever.”
Teresa, who was recently hit with her own $300,000 tax lien, emphasized that she has no concerns about their finances.
Luis’ Appearance on RHONJ
One fan question Teresa addressed was about why Luis sometimes appears visibly red on camera.
“He’s Spanish and he’s Hispanic and he’s dark-skinned,” Teresa explained.
Teresa’s Daughters Support Luis
According to Teresa, her daughters fully support her relationship with Luis.
“My daughters even say, ‘Ma, we can’t even see you with dad [Joe Giudice]. Luis [is] your guy,’” she said.
Teresa shares four daughters — Gia, 23, Gabriella, 21, Milania, 18, and Audriana, 15 — with ex-husband Joe Giudice.
She described Gabriella as “very private,” adding, “I’m totally fine with that, but she does stick up for her mom on the show when she needs to.”
As for Audriana, Teresa joked about her social media presence: “I’m like, ‘You gotta get more on TikTok.’ She’s 15, so she’s getting there. I don’t push them. Whatever they want to do.”
Teresa’s One Regret About Joining RHONJ
Though Teresa is hopeful for the return of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which is currently on pause ahead of season 15, she admitted she does have one major regret.
“I should’ve never signed that, the papers for the show,” she said.
Still, she added, “I don’t feel like I’m done yet. I hope they bring it back.”
Her Most Iconic RHONJ Moment
When asked to name her most iconic moment on the show, Teresa didn’t hesitate to name the table flip that launched her into reality TV infamy.
“I guess what made me iconic was the table flip, and now I’m embracing it because everyone does love it,” she said. “Anything I’m ever on, they want me to flip a table.”
“At first, I didn’t embrace it because they kept showing that mean face, and I didn’t like that,” she added.
Her “Hall Pass” Pick
Before wrapping the interview, Teresa was asked about her celebrity “hall pass,” and she named Italian actor Michele Morrone, 34.
Between defending her husband, reflecting on her RHONJ journey, and looking ahead to what’s next, Teresa made it clear she’s still standing strong — and not backing down.
