Andy Cohen Says Garcelle Beauvais Had a “Deep Talk” With Him Before Quitting ‘RHOBH’

Garcelle Beauvais shocked fans earlier this week when she announced her departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after five seasons. Now, Bravo host and executive producer Andy Cohen is revealing that the decision came after a heartfelt and honest conversation between the two.

Andy Cohen Reflects on Candid Conversation With Garcelle

During the Wednesday, March 26 episode of Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM, Cohen, 56, opened up about the moments leading up to Garcelle’s exit.

“We had a serious conversation before she was on Watch What Happens Live,” Cohen shared. “She had a reunion that you will see play out, and I’m not gonna [speak on it], you’ll just watch it, but … she ended in a not good place.”

Andy Cohen explained that Garcelle, 58, reached out to him before the show aired and told him, “I will speak to you in New York.”

“So we got together about an hour before her live show and she and I really hashed things out and she let me into where her head was at,” he said.

Garcelle Wanted to Focus on Family and New Projects

According to Cohen, Garcelle revealed that her decision wasn’t solely about the drama on the show.

“There was not only stuff with the show, but … the kids are entering their senior year,” he said.

Garcelle is a mother of three: son Oliver Saunders, 32, from her previous relationship with Daniel Saunders, and 17-year-old twins Jax and Jaid, whom she shares with ex-husband Mike Nilon.

Cohen admitted he had a great deal of “respect” for how open Garcelle was during their conversation.

“It was one of the most real conversations that ended where it ended,” he recalled. “But I would say it ended with her saying, ‘I’ve got to choose kind of my life.’”

Cohen Says the Door Is Always Open

While Garcelle is stepping away from RHOBH, Cohen made it clear that her departure doesn’t have to be permanent.

“I was like, ‘Look, call us in a year, by the way, if you feel like it. See where you’re at,’” he said.

“Hey, guys, so I have some news. I’ve decided to leave Beverly Hills,” she shared. “It’s been a wild ride. I mean, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened, but it’s been a ride nevertheless.”

She explained that her decision was rooted in wanting to be more present for her family.

“Their last year of high school is next year, and I want to be a part of that, and Jaid is starting a new career, and I want to be a part of that too,” she said.

Garcelle also hinted at several upcoming professional ventures.

“Secondly, I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing and acting in. I can’t tell you anything right now, but you’ll know soon,” she added.

A Thank You to Bravo and a Possible Return

Before ending her announcement, Garcelle expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and the support she’s received.
