Bozoma Saint John Diss Sutton Stracke’s Bank Account and Puts Garcelle In Her Place!
Bozoma “Boz” Saint John is addressing the ongoing tension within the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast, taking aim at Sutton Stracke’s claims of success while also sharing her thoughts on her friendship with Dorit Kemsley.
Boz Speaks on Sutton, Dorit, and Her Future on the Show
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Boz, 48, reacted to allegations that Dorit, 48, used her as an ally, discussed Garcelle Beauvais’ “low blow,” and revealed her plans for the upcoming reunion. She also weighed in on whether she would return for season 15 of the Bravo hit.
Boz Calls Out Sutton’s “Wallet” Comment
When asked about Sutton’s now-infamous “wallet” remark, Boz claimed that Sutton used it as a way to put herself above Dorit.
“It was a way to show that she was better than Dorit — in her head,” Boz explained.
According to Boz, Sutton’s comments were particularly pointed because she was aware of the financial struggles Dorit was facing amid her separation from Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57.
“[PK] had sent her this huge, long email, talking about finances and how Dorit was going to be responsible for this and for that and for that. It was a very sore spot, and so I believe that Sutton said it as a way to continue to just dig into a very vulnerable area and be like, ‘I’m better than you,’” Boz noted. “She talks about her businesses, that she’s more successful, and all this stuff. And I’m just like, ‘Girl, please don’t brag unless you really have a solid, cement house.’”
Because Sutton, who receives a substantial settlement from her divorce from Christian Stracke, often speaks about her success, Boz wanted to make a point about where that wealth originated.
“[But] I just let her breathe … I’m like, ‘Let’s not talk about wallets that don’t belong to you, and let’s not talk about successes that don’t belong to you,’” she said.
Boz also accused Sutton of playing the victim in situations she creates herself, calling her “calculating.”
“I think she actually is very calculating,” Boz stated.
Friendship With Dorit and Response to Critics
Boz acknowledged that her friendship with Dorit developed due to “time, place, and opportunity.”
“I don’t know if I had come in in her sixth season if we would’ve bonded like we’ve bonded now,” she admitted. “When I met her, she was in a very vulnerable place. Here I come — someone who’s willing to listen, who didn’t carry the baggage of eight years of friendship to say, ‘God, I don’t want to hear her talk anymore.’”
Regarding claims that Dorit only latched onto her as a “buoy” during tough times, Boz admitted it was possible but didn’t take offense.
“Maybe, but I’m not offended by it,” she said. “In life, you often do need buoys. You need people you can hold onto if you feel like you are drowning. [But] I think that we’ve created enough relationship, enough of a friendship, that it is beyond just the trauma bond.”
Boz also expressed surprise that her friendship with Dorit caused friction with other cast members.
“I’m actually very surprised that it became such a contentious point that somehow me becoming friends with somebody would offend other people and keep me from becoming friends with them,” she added.
Boz’s Thoughts on Garcelle and Reunion Plans
Boz shared that while she didn’t connect with everyone in the *RHOBH* cast, she did enjoy spending time with Erika Jayne and Garcelle Beauvais.
“I love [Erika Jayne]. Erika is an incredible human. She’s been through a lot … talk about somebody who’s evolved — but she’s still got her bite … and she’s so much fun,” Boz said. “I love Garcelle. I think Garcelle is so much fun. We didn’t get to spend as much time together, but I think she’s somebody I could really get along with.”
However, she took issue with Garcelle’s claim that she acts as Dorit’s mouthpiece.
“It’s a low blow,” Boz said. “We all know that Garcelle has stuck up for Sutton forever — and I’m not even mad at that. All of us have friends where if you were to get into a conflict with somebody, would stand up immediately. Everybody needs that person, so I don’t know how that became this villainous thing.”
Looking ahead to the season 14 reunion, Boz said she hopes she’s prepared.
“You can only be as prepared as you can with the information that you have … You just have to be on your feet, and you pray that you’re smart enough to be able to respond in the moment, and so that’s all I’m going to do — is try to be as sharp as I can in response,” she shared.
Will Boz Return for Season 15?
As for whether she’ll return for another season, Boz left the door open.
“We’ll see. Somebody call me. Let me know,” she teased.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
