Dr. Heavenly Kimes APOLOGIZES After Backlash Over Homophobic Comments on Gay Men!
Dr. Heavenly Kimes is no stranger to stirring the pot on Married to Medicine, but this time, the drama isn’t happening on-screen. The outspoken dentist is under fire after making controversial remarks about gay men while discussing a heated moment from the latest episode.
While reviewing the episode—where the husbands nearly came to blows—Heavenly made a statement that left fans outraged. “If you have a conversation with somebody and it goes to the left, most men – real men, not gay men, not b*tch men, the guys that are kinda soft – real men… straight men… are gonna feel like ‘if you tell my wife to shut the f**k up I’m gonna have a problem with it,’” she said.
The comment immediately sparked outrage, with fans accusing her of being disrespectful and reinforcing harmful stereotypes about gay men.
Social media quickly erupted, with viewers calling out Heavenly for what they felt was an offensive and outdated take.
“Heavenly needs to hush, because this ain’t it,” one fan tweeted. Another wrote, “So what you’re saying is that gay men aren’t real men? Heavenly, you really should know better.” Others didn’t hold back, slamming her for the way she speaks about people both on and off the show.
“Heavenly always has something reckless to say, and this time she put her foot in her mouth big time,” one user commented. Another added, “How does she say something so offensive and then act like it wasn’t meant that way? Girl, just say you messed up.” As the backlash continued to grow, Heavenly took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue an apology.
“I’m with you. I apologize. It was an ignorant statement,” she wrote. “I’m a grown a** woman. I can admit when I’m wrong. I didn’t mean it that way.” While some fans appreciated the apology, others weren’t convinced, with many saying they expected more accountability from her.
Whether or not this controversy will blow over remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—Heavenly is once again at the center of Married to Medicine drama, both on and off the screen.
Married to Medicine airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
