Mary Cosby’s Son Robert Jr. GOES OFF On ‘RHOSLC’ Cast, Calls Them ‘Sluts’ and ‘Fake’
Robert Cosby Jr., son of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby, is making waves again — this time with a series of eyebrow-raising Instagram Story posts.
Despite garnering support for his openness about addiction struggles on RHOSLC Season 5, his recent behavior is raising questions about his progress.
A Rocky 2023 for Robert Cosby Jr.
Robert faced legal troubles in 2023 when he was arrested for a DUI, leaving Mary to retrieve him from the police station. His struggles with substance abuse were highlighted during Season 5, where an emotional conversation with Mary saw her breaking down over his revelations.
By December 2024, Mary provided a hopeful update on her son’s recovery. “He’s doing good. He did go to rehab. He was there for 30 days and I was like, ‘No! Please stay longer!’ He’s like, ‘I want to stay longer,’” she shared. However, Robert’s latest actions suggest his post-rehab journey may not be as steady as fans hoped.
Instagram Rant Sparks Backlash
On January 12, Robert took to Instagram Stories to post a series of controversial messages. He began with a black screen and white text: “Anyone asking about my sobriety it’s none of your f*cking business.”
He followed this with a picture of a ceiling fan and the caption: “I love my fans, but there’s a thing called personal space.” While these posts seemed harmless enough, things quickly took a turn when Robert called out the RHOSLC cast in a harsh manner.
“Btw all these sluts on rhwoslc are not people to look up to. Besides my lovely mother, just cause they are ‘rich’ doesn’t mean they’re good people,” he wrote.
He then added another post with a black background, declaring, “They’re all FAKE!”
Screenshots of the posts were shared on Reddit by user u/Extreme-Physics1670, where fans expressed their disappointment and confusion over Robert’s remarks.
Community Reaction
Robert’s use of the word “sluts” drew significant backlash. While some fans acknowledged that the RHOSLC cast may not always be role models, many condemned his choice of words as misogynistic and disrespectful.
One Reddit commenter wrote, “You can criticize people without resorting to derogatory language.” Others questioned how Mary might respond to her son’s public outburst, given her protective nature.
At the time of writing, Robert has not addressed the posts or offered an apology.
What’s Next for Robert and RHOSLC?
While Robert’s latest Instagram rant has stirred controversy, fans remain hopeful that he can refocus on his sobriety journey and rebuild his image. Meanwhile, the drama continues to unfold on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, airing Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
