RECAP: ‘Sister Wives’ Christine Brown’s Daughter Ysabel Is Not Entirely On Board With David Woolley
Christine Brown’s daughter Ysabel Brown isn’t fully sold on David Woolley despite her mom’s happiness.
Christine Brown’s journey to the altar with David Woolley unfolded on the Sunday, January 12, episode of Sister Wives.
The episode highlighted Christine and David’s wedding day, the reactions of their loved ones, and the emotional moments that defined their celebration.
As Christine prepared for her big day, her 21-year-old daughter, Ysabel Brown, reflected on her feelings about her mom’s whirlwind engagement. While chatting with Christine, Ysabel recalled the moment she realized David was truly the right person for her mom.
“We were out of town and he looked at you and he was like, ‘Oh, I love you so much,’” Ysabel said. “Like, just honest and pure. And I’ve never heard somebody say ‘I love you’ that much to you.”
Christine Brown smiled at Ysabel’s heartfelt words, but her daughter shared a more nuanced perspective in a confessional.
“When David first proposed to my mom, I thought it was very soon. I thought it was too soon,” Ysabel admitted. “But I think I’ve had time to, like, adjust to it.”
Christine’s relationship with David came after her spiritual marriage to Kody Brown ended after more than 25 years. The two announced their split in November 2021, and Kody’s relationships with Janelle Brown and Meri Brown dissolved shortly after. Kody remains legally married to Robyn Brown.
Following her split from Kody, Christine went public with David in February 2023, and the couple became engaged two months later. They exchanged vows in October 2023 in a ceremony that Christine described as a dream come true.
Christine Walks Down the Aisle with Son Paedon
When it came time for Christine to walk down the aisle, she was accompanied by her son, Paedon. Reflecting on the moment, Christine shared in a confessional, “I told [him], ‘Am I supposed to be nervous?’ I’m not even nervous. And then we started walking and I just looked over at David, and it’s like, ‘There’s my heart.’”
Paedon, visibly emotional, walked beside his mom, expressing his approval of her new husband. “He’s a really good man,” Paedon told Christine before handing her off to her father, Rex, who accompanied her the rest of the way to the altar.
Ysabel Celebrates Her Mom’s Happiness
As Christine’s wedding ceremony unfolded in Utah, Ysabel described how her initial reservations had faded with time. Watching her mom find happiness with David brought a new perspective to their relationship.
“It’s given me a lot more clarity to see, like, how much they love each other,” Ysabel said. “I’m just excited and happy for them.”
She added, “I think that I’ve gotten time to get to know David and to get to know him, like, as a father and as someone who’s just a really awesome guy. I couldn’t imagine life without him now.”
A Celebration of Family and Support
Christine’s children weren’t the only ones celebrating her new beginning. Janelle Brown’s children also joined in the festivities, creating a rare moment of unity for the extended family.
“For the first time in a long time, it felt like the real Brown family was back,” said Gabe, Janelle’s son, whose relationship with Kody has been strained in recent years.
Even Kody weighed in on Christine’s new chapter, expressing mixed emotions but ultimately showing support for his ex-wife’s happiness. “Really where I’m at is Christine’s happy and that’s great,” he shared, though he admitted feeling “FOMO” about not being part of the wedding day.
Christine’s marriage to David marked the start of a new chapter for her and her family, as they embraced her joy and looked forward to their future together.
