James Kennedy’s Attorneys Insist There Were ‘No Injuries’ in Domestic Violence Incident!
James Kennedy’s attorneys are speaking out in response to the Vanderpump Rules star’s recent arrest on suspicion of domestic violence.
“We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James,” the attorneys said in a statement on Friday, December 13. “We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
A police spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE that Burbank police responded to a call on December 10 regarding an argument between a man and a woman at Kennedy’s Los Angeles home.
“The investigation determined it was a domestic incident, leading to [Kennedy’s] arrest,” the spokesperson said. “[Kennedy] was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and later posted bail. Formal charges are pending review by the Burbank City Attorney’s office.”
According to TMZ, who first reported the news, a witness saw James allegedly become physical with the unnamed woman. However, authorities did not observe any injuries when they arrived at the scene. The source noted that James was reportedly acting “erratic” and appeared to be intoxicated.
“He was acting so erratic, running back and forth to the bar and body-checking people along the way,” the source claimed. “He appeared inebriated. Spent the evening mostly alone but when he did speak to people, he appeared irritated and rude.”
James was released on a $20,000 bail after his arrest.
In the wake of the arrest, Kennedy’s girlfriend, Ally Lewber, attended a New Year’s Eve with Windsor Celebration event on December 11. During the event, she was photographed getting an ephemeral tattoo at The Tattoo Shop.
Ally and James have been dating since January 2022, just over a month after Kennedy’s engagement to ex Vanderpump Rules co-star Rachel Leviss ended.
The couple first met at a concert for Tom Sandoval’s band, The Most Extras, and Ally later admitted to being a fan of the show.
Despite Kennedy’s controversial behavior documented on VPR, Ally has spoken fondly of their relationship. “I gave him a chance to really show me who he is,” Ally said, adding, “He’s lovely.”
