Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, has found herself in the spotlight after “liking” an Instagram post announcing Jay-Z’s involvement in a shocking rape lawsuit. The 70-year-old’s official Instagram account was seen engaging with a post by ABC 7 Chicago News detailing the civil suit accusing Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty.

Knowles’ verified account follows the news outlet and “liked” the post, sparking widespread confusion. Her representatives have yet to comment on the unusual interaction.

Legal Battle Heats Up

The lawsuit was re-filed over the weekend by Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, adding Jay-Z — whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter — as a defendant alongside Combs. Initially, only Combs was named in the October filing.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, the accuser, identified as Jane Doe, alleges she was drugged at the afterparty and later raped by both music moguls. The alleged victim claimed Jay-Z held her down while Combs and an unidentified female celebrity watched. Combs allegedly also assaulted her while Jay-Z observed.

Jay-Z Responds: ‘I Will Not Give You a Penny’

In a fiery statement, Jay-Z, 55, vehemently denied the allegations, calling them a “blackmail attempt.” He accused Buzbee of attempting to extort him through a demand letter.

“No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion,” Jay-Z declared. “So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”

The Empire State of Mind rapper urged the accuser to file a criminal complaint if the claims were legitimate, emphasizing that those guilty of such heinous crimes “should be locked away.” He expressed heartbreak over the impact the allegations have had on his family, especially his children — Blue Ivy, 12, and 7-year-old twins Rumi and Sir.

“My wife and I will have to sit our children down … and explain the cruelty and greed of people,” Jay-Z added. “I mourn yet another loss of innocence.”

Buzbee Fires Back

Buzbee pushed back against Jay-Z’s allegations of blackmail, asserting that his client “never demanded a penny” and “only sought a confidential mediation.” He accused Jay-Z of attempting to “bully and harass” both him and the accuser, stating that the intimidation tactics have only emboldened his client.
