Lisa Vanderpump Confirms ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Reboot Decision Was Not Hers to Make!

Lisa Vanderpump is finally addressing the major Vanderpump Rules reboot that shocked Bravo fans last week. After it was announced that the entire cast, except for Lisa herself, would not be returning for Season 12, the 64-year-old reality star and executive producer shared her thoughts on the show’s new direction.

Vanderpump Rules Cast

Speaking at the grand opening of her Las Vegas restaurant, Pinky’s by Vanderpump, Lisa reflected on saying goodbye to the beloved cast while teasing what she’s looking for in the next generation of SURvers.

“It felt like we told that story,” Lisa told Access Hollywood. “I mean, it’d been 12 years, 11 seasons, so I think it was time to go back to grassroots. The whole premise of the show was about the restaurant business, then it took off.”

Though she acknowledged how iconic the original cast had become, Lisa admitted it was time for a fresh start. “I cannot minimize — and I don’t want to — the importance of how great that cast was and how open they were. I love them all, but it was time to call it a day,” she shared. “It was all of us, a lot of talks. And of course, I’m sad.”

When asked what she’s hoping to see in the new Vanderpump Rules lineup, Lisa emphasized authenticity and real-life dynamics.

“I’m looking for authenticity. I think that’s the first thing you look for,” she explained. “People that can really just be themselves, because nothing’s as interesting as when people are just honest with their lives. I’m looking for great connections, which always happens — whether it’s positive or negative.”

According to Lisa, the restaurant business naturally breeds drama. “When you are in the restaurant business, it’s a nucleus, and it holds everybody together — and that’s when things get complicated,” she added.

Meanwhile, Vanderpump Rules executive producer Andy Cohen also weighed in on the reboot, hinting at new twists and surprises for fans. One original cast member even revealed they quit the show right after the explosive Season 11 reunion.
