Kody Brown, the patriarch of the polygamous Brown family from Sister Wives, has finally opened up about his long-rumored favoritism toward his fourth wife, Robyn Brown.

During an upcoming episode of Sister Wives, Kody admitted that his relationship with Robyn was different from his other marriages and that he worked hard to conceal their special connection while attempting to maintain harmony within the family.

A Shift in Family Dynamics

Robyn Brown, 46, joined the Brown family in 2010 as Kody’s fourth wife, dramatically altering the family’s dynamics. While the Brown family initially seemed to embrace the addition, tensions grew over time as Robyn’s bond with Kody became increasingly evident. The family uprooted their lives from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona, a move that many fans speculated was influenced by Robyn.

In the December 8th episode of Sister Wives, Kody reflected on his relationships with his wives.

“I was building a family, it wasn’t whether I was in love, I loved them.” Kody stated in a talking head confessional. “Was I in love with them? Did I have the same experience with each one? No, never.” 

Kody’s statement marked a significant departure from his previous claims that he treated all his wives equally.

Robyn’s Impact on the Family Dynamic

Kody’s admission sheds light on years of tension within the Brown household. While he maintained that he did not play favorites, Christine, Janelle, and Meri Brown — his first three wives, often voiced concerns that Robyn received preferential treatment. In his December 8th confession, Kody admitted to hiding the depth of his connection with Robyn.

He said, “That’s a hard confession to make when I was working really hard to hide what Robyn and I had while I’m trying to promote everything else.”

This acknowledgment supports years of speculation that Kody’s favoritism toward Robyn contributed to the breakdown of his relationships with Christine, Janelle, and Meri.
