Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney Face Off in Court With Chef Penny Davidi Over Something About Her
Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney are set to face off in court with Penny Davidi, the former chef and COO of their sandwich shop Something About Her. The dispute centers around an agreement made in June 2023, which Penny claims promised her 10 percent ownership of the business and a monthly salary of $7,500, later increasing to $10,000.
According to legal documents obtained by In Touch Weekly on December 3, a Los Angeles judge has scheduled the trial for March 16, 2026.
Penny alleges the agreement outlined a partnership in “developing, creating, owning, operating, promoting … and otherwise profiting and benefiting from” the Something About Her brand. She says she invested significant time and money into the project and even secured trademarks for the shop.
However, Penny parted ways with Ariana and Katie earlier this year amid a salary dispute, accusing the Vanderpump Rules alums of breaching their contract.
In her lawsuit, Penny is asking the court to confirm the validity of their agreement and to compel Ariana and Katie to honor its terms.
Meanwhile, their legal team has denied any wrongdoing, arguing that Penny has failed to provide sufficient evidence to support her claims. Ariana and Katie are seeking to have the case dismissed entirely.
Something About Her officially opened in West Hollywood in May, following delays caused by permitting issues and other logistical challenges. Madix and Maloney initially revealed plans for the shop in 2022.
The trial is expected to last up to five days, with tensions already running high. As the legal battle unfolds, fans of Vanderpump Rules await the resolution of the dispute while the show prepares for its 12th season, set to begin production in 2025 with an all-new cast.
