Bravo Shakes Up Vanderpump Rules: Original Cast Out, Brand-New People In for Next Season!
Vanderpump Rules is officially returning for Season 12, but it’s getting a major shake-up. Bravo announced on Tuesday, November 26, that the upcoming season will feature Lisa Vanderpump and an entirely new group of SUR staff, promising a fresh start for the iconic series.
According to the network and Us Weekly, Season 12 will introduce a “close-knit” group of SUR employees whose personal and professional lives are just as intertwined as the original cast. While no premiere date or cast list has been revealed, production is set to begin next year.
“What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again,” executive producer Alex Baskin shared in a statement.
“With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can’t wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of co-workers and friends make their way through life together.”
Lisa Vanderpump, the heart of the series since its debut in 2013, also expressed her excitement for the new chapter. “The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears, and everything in between,” she said.
“In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules.”
The series reached new levels of notoriety in 2023 when the Scandoval affair broke, revealing Tom Sandoval’s relationship with James Kennedy’s ex-fiancée, Rachel Leviss, while he was still dating Ariana Madix. The scandal fractured the cast and became a cultural flashpoint, earning the show an Emmy nomination.
While VPR saw a surge in viewership, the fallout from Scandoval created divisions within the group, with Ariana refusing to film scenes with Sandoval. This ultimately led Bravo to pause the series after Season 11 to evaluate its future.
Bravo’s decision to overhaul the cast marks a significant shift for VPR but the network is confident that this new direction will continue the show’s legacy.
Fans can expect more updates on Season 12, including the official cast list and premiere date, in the coming months. For now, the SURvers’ next chapter is shaping up to be just as dramatic and exciting as the last.
