Teddi Mellencamp Takes ‘Accountability’ and ‘Apologizes’ for Cheating With a 4-Foot-9-Inch Horse Trainer!

Teddi Mellencamp is opening up about her divorce from Edwin Arroyave and the mistakes she’s made along the way.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum took to Instagram to share her thoughts after revealing that she had an affair with her married horse trainer, Simon Schroeder. In her candid post, Mellencamp, 43, admitted to her faults, saying she has “cried, mourned, and apologized” for her role in the breakdown of her marriage.

“The only person who can change your life is you,” she wrote alongside a video of herself working out. “We have two options, pretend to be a victim or stand up and fight for yourself. We all deserve peace and happiness.” She continued, “I have taken accountability and apologized for things I have done wrong. Now, I have given myself permission to grow and thrive.”

Mellencamp also explained why she has chosen to remain mostly silent about the rumors and media attention surrounding her split. “I have decided to not pander to the media and tell my side because in the big scheme of things [clickbait] means nothing, and of course there are three sides to every story,” she wrote. “How I can stand up and show up for the people that do [matter] does mean something. This is called being an adult. This is what saying it with my full chest means.”

Earlier this month, Mellencamp confirmed her decision to end her 12-year marriage. In a statement shared on Instagram on November 2, she wrote, “After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”

The couple, who married in 2011, share three children: son Cruz and daughters Slate and Dove. While Mellencamp faced allegations of stepping out on her husband with Schroeder beginning in May, as reported that Arroyave, 47, also had his own history of infidelity. Sources alleged he had an affair in 2015 that lasted between six months and a year.

Despite the drama, Mellencamp is focused on moving forward and prioritizing her growth. “Comments are on ❤️☮️🤣,” she captioned her post, signaling her readiness to face public scrutiny head-on after previously disabling comments during her divorce announcement. The reality star is stepping into her next chapter with determination to find peace and happiness for herself and her children.
