Britani Bateman’s Ex Jared Osmond Slams ‘RHOSLC’ for Giving Him a Bad Edit and Throwing Him Under the Bus!
Jared Osmond, nephew of singer Donny Osmond, is breaking his silence about his controversial appearance on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The ex-boyfriend of cast member Britani Bateman is calling out the show’s editing and the backlash he’s received since the episodes aired, claiming he was unfairly portrayed and that his life has been turned upside down.
In the current season, Britani broke up with Jared but later met him for dinner to seek closure. The scene, however, painted Jared in an unflattering light, with Britani accusing him in a confessional of being manipulative and refusing to post photos of her on social media—except as his “best friend.” Speaking to Daily Mail, Jared addressed the fallout, claiming fans are harassing him online.
“I’m being absolutely hammered right now. I wake up to about 200 DMs just filled with hate,” he shared. “I take it with a grain of salt and try to answer some of them, even the worst ones.”
He specifically called out the dinner scene, saying, “They edited a two-hour dinner down into three minutes, and then it looks like I’m cutting her off and putting a pin in her opinion. That’s not how it went.”
Jared admitted he was ready to quit the show after the dinner scene but was persuaded to return for Angie Katsanevas’ anniversary party, where Britani appeared with a new date, Aaron.
“The main producer called me, and she goes, ‘Jared, you need to be here.’ I was in bed. It’s 10 o’clock at night, and I said, ‘No way. I am so done after what you guys did to me at the dinner.’ But eventually, I changed my mind,” Jared recalled. Encouragement from cast member Justin Rose, who reminded him he lived just 10 minutes from Angie’s house, also helped sway his decision.
At the party, Jared says he didn’t mind seeing Britani with someone new and appreciated the chance to connect with other cast members. He’s since become close friends with Heather Gay and Mary Cosby, calling Mary “someone I have a ton of respect for.”
Despite these connections, Jared confessed he regrets filming the show. “I definitely got thrown under the bus,” he said, claiming Britani’s comments about him on the show have caused lasting harm.
“I don’t think Britani understood the damage she was doing when she talked poorly…It’s affected my children,” Jared revealed. “One of the things that Britani and I talked about, and she promised my children, is that she wouldn’t disparage me on national television.”
He added, “I humbly admit, because I’m not a narcissist, that I’ve made mistakes and I have to own those things. I never cheated on Britani, but I had one foot out the door at times because I was nervous.” Jared believes the reality TV spotlight transformed Britani. “She’s a lot stronger [now], but she’s also had all these people in her ear,” he said, noting that Britani receives “hundreds of DMs a day telling her what an evil person” Jared is.
The scrutiny has also extended to Jared’s family. “I mean, it’s a small town here in Salt Lake City. Everybody has an opinion about me now. Everybody has an opinion about the Osmond family,” he lamented.
