‘RHOSLC’ Star Bronwyn Newport Defends Her Marriage Amid Fan Backlash!
Bronwyn Newport is setting the record straight about her marriage after her husband, Todd Bradley, came under fire for his behavior on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The newest RHOSLC star recently opened up about the tense dinner scene that had fans buzzing, insisting that Todd’s intentions were rooted in love, not conflict.
“Todd and I are super happy and stable and totally great, so I don’t know that I need to clarify [anything],” Bronwyn shared on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast. She explained, “In a really long-term, serious, stable relationship like we have … you show up [in] different ways [for] your partner.”
The drama unfolded during the couple’s anniversary dinner in Palm Springs when Lisa Barlow brought up Gwen’s consideration of reconnecting with her late father’s family.
As tensions rose, Todd quickly shut down the conversation, declaring, “This is not going to happen. This is over. Done. Done. You know it’s just going to piss me off, so let’s stay away from it.” The moment left viewers divided, with some questioning his reaction.
In her confessional, Bronwyn admitted feeling conflicted. “I was worried the ladies were going to embarrass me. It’s Todd who embarrasses me in this moment — as much as I love him,” she revealed. “There is definitely a dynamic around anger and frustration that Todd and I handle differently. Todd has a very specific stopping point and there is no going past that.”
For his part, Todd defended his decision, telling producers, “I’m not going to have this discussion at a dinner table to celebrate our anniversary. It’s a personal issue for Gwen and Bronwyn. Me, as a supporter of both of them, it’s no one’s business to discuss at a dinner table. Frankly, it wasn’t Lisa’s business to bring it up to begin with.”
Despite the on-screen tension, Bronwyn stood by her husband’s actions, describing him as “lovingly protective.”
Reflecting on the moment, she said, “Todd was willing in that moment to [be like], ‘I don’t care if people like me or not. We are not doing this. I care about Bronwyn, I care about Gwen and this is going nowhere good for either of them.’”
Bronwyn also acknowledged her own role in the dinner debacle, admitting, “I kind of played this role of, like, skittery, scattery, trying to fix it.” However, she ultimately praised Todd’s unwavering support, saying his actions were grounded in care for their family.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, airing Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
