Crystal Kung Minkoff Reveals She Was Set to Film ‘RHOBH’ Before Getting Fired!
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Crystal Kung Minkoff is shedding light on the events leading up to her departure from the show, including a revealing phone call with producers that signaled her fate.
Speaking on her Humble Brag podcast with Cynthia Bailey, Crystal shared that she had been preparing for Season 14 filming, though she was asked to consider some narrative changes she was “unwilling” to make.
“I got a call [about], ‘Let’s talk about what your next season looks like,’ and I had never gotten that call,” Crystal explained. Cynthia chimed in, “You don’t want to get that call,” to which Crystal responded, “[It was] like, ‘Well, we really need to know what you’re going to talk about.’ I was like, ‘Okay, so these are the things.’”
According to Crystal, she had expected to return and even had preliminary filming dates lined up. “I was moving forward to do the show. I had dates to start,” she said, though she added that her involvement didn’t feel fully confirmed without a contract in hand.
When discussions turned to her storyline, Crystal admitted she felt pressured to “embellish [her] life in a way that felt unnatural.” She elaborated, “It is so impossible for everyone to have a major story every year, and if you do, you have a f**ked up life. I don’t have that in my life. And I am unwilling to create that.”
Crystal recalled her concern about how such embellishments might spiral once the audience weighed in, saying it could “become reality” in a way that felt “convoluted.” Ultimately, she received a final call from a producer, informing her that the plans had shifted and she would not be returning for the next season.
“One of the producers called me and just said, ‘You were on yesterday, and then today it changed,’” she shared, adding that she didn’t take the decision personally.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 premieres November 19 on Bravo.
