Scheana Shay Throws Major Shade at Rachel Leviss for Ending Podcast ‘Rachel Goes Rogue’
Scheana Shay weighed in on Rachel Leviss’ recent decision to end her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue, while appearing on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast.
Following Rachel’s October 17 announcement that she would be stepping away from the podcast world to focus on a “more balanced and healthier life,” Scheana admitted she was surprised the show lasted as long as it did. “I’m surprised it took this long,” Scheana, 39, commented.
Rachel, 30, launched her podcast earlier this year, seemingly as a platform to address her side of the “Scandoval” affair with Tom Sandoval.
In her farewell episode, Rachel explained, “I’ve made the decision to take both feet out of the Vanderpump Rules universe and focus on myself, focus on my life, my healing… I would like to move on from having one foot in the door of Vanderpump Rules and one foot out.”
Scheana acknowledged Rachel’s desire to be heard, saying, “I believe everyone should have a voice and be able to get their side of the story out, and that was her way of doing it.”
Reflecting on the show’s run, Scheana added, “I did not see longevity in this podcast when it started… so good for her for being able to do it for that long.”
As a podcast host herself with her six-year-old show Scheananigans, Scheana shared insight into the work behind successful podcasting.
“It’s not easy,” she admitted, adding, “People think, ‘Oh, I’m gonna start a podcast,’ but it actually takes a lot of work… there’s a lot of work that goes into it if you want to make it successful and actually pay the bills with it.”
Vanderpump Rules is currently on pause, with fans eagerly awaiting its 12th season.
