‘RHOP’ RECAP: Jacqueline Reveals Mia Thornton’s Boyfriend INC’s Sneaky Past!
The October 20th episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac dives right back into the aftermath of Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby’s chaotic GNA Wellness fundraiser, and let’s just say, things are a mess. Not just a typical Potomac mess – we’re talking about security, screaming, and Gizelle doing what Gizelle does best: commanding everyone’s attention with some serious shade.
The episode kicks off with Gizelle giving everyone the boot from her event, and if that wasn’t enough, she’s enlisted security to make sure they all leave promptly. Gizelle is done playing nice. Now, I’ll say this – while I absolutely think Gizelle has every right to expect basic manners and home training at her event, the real issue here seems to be Ashley’s failure to communicate. She tried to smooth things over with an 8 p.m. cutoff time, but absolutely nothing was smoothed over. In fact, Ashley’s half-hearted attempt at fixing things backfired, and now Gizelle is left screaming at cast members she’s only met twice while Ashley looks on as if she didn’t just light the match that set the whole thing ablaze.
The Van of Discontent
Meanwhile, the ladies who got booted from the fundraiser are not letting this go quietly. Back in the van, they are going off about Gizelle’s lack of hospitality. Apparently, being kicked out of an event with security doesn’t sit well with anyone (shocking!). The tension is palpable, but honestly, did we expect anything less from Potomac?
Karen, Ashley, and a Heated Showdown
The next day, Stacey Rusch plays host to Karen Huger, Jassi, and Ashley, and oh boy, she’s ready to tear Ashley a new one after getting booted from Gizelle’s event. Ashley, though, has other plans. She decides to flip the script and call out Karen for being shady. Ashley isn’t thrilled that Karen invited everyone to her event knowing the time constraints would be an issue.
Karen, being the master of deflection, denies any wrongdoing (classic Karen) and quickly switches gears. She brings up Ashley’s oh-so-thoughtful gift of Uber gift cards for her birthday – a passive-aggressive reminder to keep her off the road after her DUI. Burn.
But Karen doesn’t stop there. She takes it up a notch, going straight for the jugular by mocking Ashley’s ginormous bunions. Yes, you read that correctly. Bunions! Apparently, we’ve entered the realm of playground insults now.
Jamal Bryant Makes a Cameo
Over at Gizelle’s house, there’s a surprise guest – none other than Jamal Bryant, Gizelle’s ex and subject of Monique Samuels’ EPIC Season 5 reunion read. Jamal hasn’t been on the scene for a while, but here he is, visiting to see his twin daughters off to prom.
Oh, and word on the street is that Jamal has a girlfriend! Yes, a real one this time, according to Gizelle. It’s safe to say we’re all a bit skeptical given the past, but hey, stranger things have happened in Potomac.
Mia’s Love Triangle… or Square?
Meanwhile, Mia Thornton is renting an Airbnb with her new (or is it old?) man, Inc, as they try to avoid Gordan, who’s apparently still lurking around in Mia’s building in an adjacent apartment. The drama doesn’t stop there though – Jacqueline Blake drops by and spills some tea of her own. She casually mentions that Inc used to ask her out back in the day. Oh, and did we notice that extra long hug Inc gave Jacqueline? Yeah, I saw it.
Jacqueline’s boyfriend joins the crew for a mini birthday celebration. As the adults settle in, we learn that Mia is still clipping Gordan’s fingernails (yes, that’s a thing) and making sure he has his favorite coffee cups. Ah, the glamorous life of Potomac.
Stacey’s Awkward Gym Date
On the other side of town, Stacey introduces us to her love interest friend T.J. – and let’s just say, things are awkward. The two are at the gym getting trained, but the real workout is in their flirting. Stacey is trying her best to keep things light and fun, but T.J. is not giving her much to work with.
Here’s the kicker: Stacey shared last week that T.J. is all about abstinence until marriage – fine, we get it. But hugging is off the table too? When Stacey goes in for a greeting hug, T.J. flat-out skips her and hugs their trainer instead. Later, during their workout, Stacey tries to keep the mood playful by making a joke about the “big balls” they’re using. T.J.? Not having it. “Listen, I’m not sleeping with you, man. I’m just not gonna do it,” he says, without a hint of humor. And when she asks, on a scale of one to ten, how badly he wants to sleep with her, he hits her with this gem: “The letter K.” Wait, what? If that wasn’t bad enough, he clarifies, “Zero.” Yikes. Things are not looking good for these two.
Gizelle’s Apologies and Charcuterie
Gizelle decides to clear the air after the chaos at her fundraiser by hosting a cocktail and charcuterie event for the ladies (minus Karen, of course). She’s on a mission to break Karen’s “spell,” over Jassi and Stacey, and she’s not wasting any time. Gizelle quickly apologizes for the way things went down, which leaves Wendy Osefo making her signature dramatic faces. “This is new,” Wendy quips, clearly taken aback by Gizelle’s rare moment of humility.
But the drama isn’t over yet. Stacey seizes the moment to check Ashley for being messy and spilling the tea about her relationship with T.J. to the group. Ashley tries to defend herself, but Stacey isn’t having it. This might just be the start of a new feud.
Karen’s Court Drama
And then, of course, we can’t forget about Karen’s looming court case. On the way to the vacation house, Mia brings up the DUI knowing the internet is buzzing with details. Karen, true to form, remains vague and tells Mia to “read about it online.” But Mia’s not fooled. “There’s going to come a time where you’re going to break,” she warns.
