Sai De Silva Fires Back at Critics Over Her Hair: ‘This Is My Real Hair!’
Sai De Silva is shutting down the haters.
The Real Housewives of New York City star recently found herself the subject of online criticism after some viewers claimed she was wearing a wig on a recent episode. But Sai quickly set the record straight, making it clear that the hair seen on-screen is all hers.
“This is my real hair!” Sai declared after a user on X (formerly known as Twitter) accused her of sporting Real Housewives of Potomac star Ashley Darby’s “hand me down wig.” Sai fired back in the comments, saying, “But I’m not wearing a wig. This is my real hair.”
Sai took things further by addressing the issue directly in an Instagram video. In the video, the RHONY star humorously explained, “The internet is dragging my hair in last night’s episode. I’m not wearing a wig. This is my hair.”
She even pulled on her curls to prove her point, saying, “And it’s actually kind of falling out over here. This is my hair, guys. I have a curly bob. This is my real hair!” Sai went on to suggest that fans might be confused because she often switches up her look. “I think you’re so used to seeing me wear fake hair that when I’m sharing my real hair, you don’t believe it. Sorry! Sorry, Twitter, and the internet.”
Rather than letting the criticism get her down, Sai found humor in the situation. On her Instagram Stories, she shared a meme of Real Housewives legend NeNe Leakes rocking a blond, curly wig, with a fan comparing it to Sai’s hairstyle.
“I can’t stop laughing,” Sai wrote in response. “How the hell do I get roasted for wearing my real hair?? The internet is undefeated.”
Despite the online shade, Sai’s fans rushed to her defense, praising her natural beauty and flawless curls.
The Real Housewives of New York City airs Tuesday nights on Bravo.
