Karen Huger DENIES She’s A Drunk After Her Near Fatal DUI — ‘I Don’t Have A Drinking Problem!!’
Karen Huger is firing back at rumors about her drinking, vehemently denying she has a problem after her near-fatal DUI, declaring, “I don’t have a drinking problem!!”
The Real Housewives of Potomac star, who faced a DUI charge in March, recently spoke to Extra TV and candidly discussed the situation. “I don’t have a drinking problem, let’s be very clear, but all of us have accidents… It’s still being adjudicated, and I can’t talk about it,” Karen explained.
She added with her signature confidence, “Everybody likes a little shine from the Dame, so I gave it to them.”
Reflecting on the incident, Karen shared more insight during an exclusive interview with E! News. “I woke up from it feeling so much gratitude,” she said. “One, that no one else was involved in the accident, and two, that I’m alive and I’m here.”
As The Real Housewives of Potomac gears up for more episodes to air, fans can expect to see Karen open up more about the events leading up to the DUI. “I’m waiting for my truth to come out,” she stated. “I will own it every step of the way. And I hope it doesn’t disappoint some people.”
Karen also made a point to differentiate her situation from Shannon Beador’s DUI drama, which has been unfolding on The Real Housewives of Orange County. “I don’t think there’s any similarity between Shannon and I,” Karen said. “But I support Shannon 100 percent.”
When asked about the public scrutiny she’s faced, Karen responded with grace. “I’m a grown woman, I don’t expect a lot from anyone except God. Of course, I expected it. And I handle it with grace and fun. Like a, ‘You don’t know me, girl, you weren’t there,’ kind of thing.”
Despite the challenges, Karen acknowledged some positive moments. “There are some cast members that really surprised me. So, I am so grateful for the ones that surprised me,” she shared.
