Criminal Charges Dropped Against David Beador

David Beador, ex-husband of Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador, recently scored a legal win after criminal charges against him were dismissed.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, charges of reckless driving and speeding over 100 miles per hour were dropped during a September 19 hearing. The incident in question occurred on February 4, when David was pulled over by Newport Beach police while driving his Porsche 911.

Initially, David was charged with a misdemeanor for reckless driving and an infraction for exceeding 100 mph. Represented by Michael Fell, who also serves as Shannon Beador’s attorney, David pleaded not guilty. His case was officially dismissed last week, marking a significant legal victory for him.

Turbulent Times for the Beadors

David’s legal troubles aren’t the only headlines surrounding him lately. His estranged wife, Lesley Beador, filed for divorce and sought a restraining order against him. In her petition, Lesley accused David of emotional instability and jealousy over her ex. “I never know when [David’s] next meltdown will be or how long they will last,” Lesley stated, further expressing concerns about the effects on their children.

David, however, denied these accusations, claiming that Lesley uses the term “abusive” when he disagrees with her. He attributed the tension to his decision to limit her spending abilities on credit cards. Lesley was granted a temporary restraining order, with a hearing set for October to determine further legal action.

Shannon Beador’s Own Legal Issues

While David was fighting his charges, Shannon Beador also found herself in legal trouble earlier this year. The reality star made headlines when she crashed her car into a property while driving under the influence. After her DUI sentencing, Shannon expressed her remorse, saying, “I am grateful that no one else was injured besides me in this incident. I have learned so much from my terrible mistake that night and realize that driving any distance while impaired is too far.”

With both David and Shannon facing their own legal battles, it’s clear that the Beadors’ post-divorce lives continue to be complicated.

David Beador’s Violent History

In February 2003, Newport Beach Police responded to a domestic violence call from Shannon and David Beador’s home, two years into their marriage. David was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and battery against a cohabitant. He later pleaded guilty to both charges, admitting in court to using “force and violence” against Shannon. As part of his plea deal, David completed three years of informal probation, a work program, and a voluntary batterer’s treatment program.

Despite David’s guilty plea, Shannon downplayed the incident in a 2014 interview, claiming that no physical abuse occurred and that the police were called merely to de-escalate an argument. However, her account raises questions, especially given that prosecutors do not pursue cases without solid evidence. Shannon confided in Vicki Gunvalson about incidents of abuse during their close friendship, including sharing incriminating photos after a specific episode. Shannon’s reactions during subsequent accusations, including anger but not outright denial, further complicate the narrative, as she continues to maintain that there was no physical abuse despite David’s legal admission.
