Diddy’s Ex Bodyguard Claims Russell Simmons Groomed Diddy for The Freak Offs!
Former bodyguard exposes Diddy’s troubling behavior and implicates influential figures in the music industry.
As Sean “Diddy” Combs faces mounting legal issues and public scrutiny, more figures from his past are speaking out against him. One of them is Diddy’s former bodyguard, Gene Deal, who recently gave an explosive interview with The Art of Dialogue.
In the interview, Deal not only stated that Diddy deserves to be behind bars but also revealed that the music mogul’s troubling behavior was learned from influential figures in the music industry, specifically citing Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons and Uptown Records CEO, Andre Harrell.
Gene Deal began by holding Diddy solely accountable for his actions, but also pointed to the men who mentored Diddy early in his career. “You gotta realize, he learned from Andre Harrell,” Deal explained. “He learned from Russell Simmons. He learned from Clive Davis.” Diddy, who started his career as an intern under Harrell at Uptown Records, reportedly absorbed the behaviors modeled by these industry giants. Deal suggested that Simmons had the greatest influence on Diddy, particularly when it came to the darker aspects of the industry.
Russell Simmons Was Part of The Freak-offs
The former bodyguard alleged that during Diddy’s early years, Russell Simmons and others were heavily involved in destructive behavior. “When those people are telling you that they were heavy into the drugs, they was heavy into beating women, and doing things at that crazy stage. That’s gonna make him think that he can get away with the same thing,” Deal claimed, adding that he had witnessed similar behavior firsthand at Simmons’ home. “I’m not gonna say alleged ’cause I saw that for my own self,” Deal said.
Russell Simmons Fall from Grace
Like Diddy, Russell Simmons has faced his own reckoning in recent years. In 2017, multiple women came forward accusing Simmons of sexual assault, accusations he has denied. In a 2018 statement issued to Rolling Stone, Simmons expressed his shock, stating, “I have never been abusive or violent in any way in my relations with women.” Despite his denial, more allegations followed, and Simmons eventually stepped down from his duties at Def Jam.
Interestingly, despite his own controversies, Simmons was one of the few people who defended Diddy when allegations about his past began to surface. With Diddy now facing serious charges, it remains to be seen how the legacy of these once-powerful figures in the music industry will continue to evolve.
As Deal’s revelations come to light, the influence of these industry giants on Diddy’s behavior adds a new layer to the ongoing legal battle surrounding the Bad Boy mogul.
