On Wednesday, both Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra took to their social media platforms to discuss their ongoing issues with Carly’s adoptive parents. During a Q&A session on Instagram Live, Tyler addressed questions regarding the potential for legal action from Brandon and Teresa.
“I would welcome that challenge, for sure,” Tyler stated, adding that Carly’s adoptive parents had yet to initiate any legal proceedings against them. “I am not worried about that,”
He continued. “I actually welcome that legal battle, like, please! I would love for that to be part of the story, if that is what [they] want. I don’t want that, but if that is something [they] would do, if [they’re] so worried about harming Carly, that would be really harming – in my opinion– to go that far and that route. To have that be a part of Carly’s adoption story, to [send us] a Cease and Desist. You’d have to have pretty valid evidence to make that happen.”
Tyler’s remarks come after Catelynn revealed that Teresa had blocked her from sending updates about Carly through her phone, leading to speculation that the Davis family might take legal steps to prevent further public commentary from the couple.
Catelynn and Tyler’s Online Rants: The Backstory
As reported, Catelynn shared her frustration on social media, explaining that she and Tyler had been cut off from communicating with Carly. “I wouldn’t do anything legally. That really wouldn’t help anything,” Tyler clarified in an interview with TikToker JordyCray. “I definitely wouldn’t, even if the opportunity was there.”
Tyler also noted that their adoption contract was not legally binding, meaning Brandon and Teresa were not legally obligated to facilitate communication between Carly and her biological parents.
“If Brandon and Teresa wanted to go the legal route to stop us from talking about them online, they would need to provide a valid reason,” Tyler said. “I would love to see what they would say. If they tried to sue me or send a cease and desist, I would love to see the evidence for it. But I’m not worried about that at all.”
The Couple’s Motivation for Public Statements
Catelynn and Tyler have repeatedly used their social media platforms to communicate with Carly, hoping that their messages will reach her someday. Tyler explained that their public posts are intended to show Carly that they have made consistent efforts to maintain a connection.
