Alexis Bellino Claims ‘RHOC’ Missed The Real ‘Truth’ About John Janssen and Shannon Beador’s Lawsuit
Alexis Bellino is shedding light on the ongoing legal battle between her fiancé, John Janssen, and his ex, Shannon Beador. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Alexis provides insight into why John rejected Shannon’s offer to settle their dispute over a $75,000 facelift repayment.
In a recent episode of Real Housewives of Orange County, Beador, 60, initially agreed to repay Janssen, 62, half of the amount she borrowed for the cosmetic procedure.
However, her offer shifted after John allegedly obtained videos of her from the night of her September 2023 DUI incident. Shannon proposed paying the full amount if John would agree to a non-disparagement clause, which he declined.
Bellino, 47, elaborated on the situation, explaining that Janssen’s refusal was due to the nature of Shannon’s offer. “Once again, the truth wasn’t told in that moment,” Alexis said.
“She wanted to not pay him the full amount. It was, I believe, a small down payment and then monthly installments, which he was not going to do. He doesn’t want to have to get a monthly installment from his ex.”
The RHOC star also discussed the implications of the proposed non-disparagement clause, stating, “What a lot of people don’t consider is [that] we’d been filming at this point for three or four months and by the time the show airs, it would’ve been another seven or eight months. So any new lies that she would’ve wanted to concoct or bring out, he would’ve had a muzzle and never been to speak the truth. So there’s a lot more to it.”
Alexis further explained that John’s decision to file the lawsuit was not driven by the timing of the legal action but rather by the approaching expiration of the statute of limitations.
“He had two days before the statute of limitations on the suit expired,” Alexis noted. In California, the deadline for breach of an oral contract is two years from when the contract was broken.
Addressing criticisms that John should simply “walk away,” Alexis emphasized the significance of the money involved. “I don’t know any wealthy person that’s going to walk away from $75,000. If there is that person, I’d love to shake their hand,” she said.
Additionally, Bellino countered Shannon’s claims that she financed everything during their relationship.
“That’s not true either,” she asserted. “That’s going to come out. He’s not going to spend as much money as he did on her and then also let $75,000 go away when she has defamed him for the last four years.”
Alexis, who joined the RHOC cast in Season 4 and left after Season 8, also clarified her position regarding the lawsuit. “I had nothing to do with the lawsuit – let’s make that very clear,” she said.
“John has only wanted his money and to move on. He does not want to go to trial. We do have the evidence and we will win. And his attorneys feel very confident and we don’t want it to go there. But if that’s where he’s forced, then that’s what’ll happen. So all she [has to do] is pay him the money she owes him.”
As the RHOC season progresses, viewers continue to witness the fallout from this high-profile legal dispute. New episodes of Real Housewives of Orange County air Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
