During an interview with Reality Blurb in Times Square, the reality star opened up about her approach to the new season, how she’s protecting herself, and what viewers often miss when the cameras aren’t rolling.

Ciara shared some insights about her personality that viewers don’t always see. “I’m so sensitive… I am a crybaby,” she admitted, revealing a softer side behind her typically strong on-screen persona.

“I think that will unfold more and make more sense this season, people getting to see [that side of] me. And I get to peel back layers a little bit on why I’m a tough lover and why I take my [relationships] so seriously.”

Her candidness about her friendships on the show was also a topic of conversation.

“I just really value my friendships, and I hope that that translates across the screen when [I’m] having — not altercations — but going back and forth with my friends,” she explained.

Last season, Ciara went through a very public breakup with Summer House new co-star West Wilson, who cited the pressures of being in the spotlight as a reason for the split.

Many fans have been eager to see how Ciara will handle filming alongside her ex in the upcoming season. Reflecting on the differences between this season and the last, she emphasized her focus on authenticity.

“I’m genuinely being myself and keeping it real,” she said. “And if you don’t like it, if they don’t like it, it’s whatever. It’s what I have to do to protect myself but also move forward… [I’m] just being unapologetically me this season and rolling with all the punches.”

Looking back on her journey with the cast, Ciara described how much more comfortable she feels within the group. “I feel like it was just yesterday that I was brand new to this group, but I feel like now — these people [my castmates] aren’t going anywhere. I can’t get rid of them, they can’t get rid of me,” she joked.

“I feel so much more comfortable in the house, and I feel like I’ve grown up [there] almost. I started when I was 24… [Now] I don’t feel bad for making boundaries. I don’t feel bad for expressing the way that I feel.”

Aside from her personal growth, Ciara noted that there are aspects of her life that cameras haven’t captured. For one, her home life remains private due to filming restrictions at her apartment.

“My [apartment] building won’t let me film,” she revealed. However, one thing she wishes could make it on the show is her beloved cat, Jasper.

“I would love to feature him some more… all the cats [and] all the interactions between our animals, between Amanda [Batula]’s dogs [and Paige DeSorbo’s cat] Daphne, who’s new to the family… [Also] probably more of our bedtime [conversations] between me, Amanda, and Paige.”

As Ciara teases a season filled with personal growth, authenticity, and a bit of fun with her furry friends, fans of Summer House have a lot to look forward to when season 9 premieres next year.
