‘The Valley’ star Jax Taylor Admits He Was ‘So Scared’ and ‘Crying’ Before Leaving Rehab
Jax Taylor has returned to the spotlight, opening up about the emotional challenges he faced upon leaving a mental health facility.
During a recent episode of his podcast When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany, Jax opened up about his reluctance to leave the mental health facility after receiving his diagnosis.
“I didn’t wanna f–king leave, I really, really didn’t,” Jax told his friend and guest Scott Kaufman. “I was so sad leaving. I was crying. I’m like, ‘I don’t wanna go.’”
Jax, 44, explained that the structured environment of the facility provided him with a sense of security.
“I was scared to leave those front doors because [I had] structure every day,” he shared. “I knew what I was doing, I was reading, I was in that world.”
As Jax reflected on the difficulty of transitioning back to everyday life, he shared his fears of returning to filming and facing the challenges that awaited him outside the facility.
“I was like, ‘God, I know the real world’s gonna hit me like a ton of bricks and I’ve got to go back to filming my show and I know everybody’s mad at me and they’re gonna come at me,’” Jax confessed.
Despite his apprehension, Jax returned to film season two of The Valley, acknowledging that adjusting to life post-treatment has been difficult but not impossible.
“I was just like, ‘I’m so scared. I’m so scared.’ And it’s been happening but I’ve been dealing with it but it’s scary,” Jax admitted.
Adding to his stress, Jax has been navigating his divorce from Brittany, who filed in late August citing “irreconcilable differences.” Just days later, Jax revealed that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress during his stay at the facility.
“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday,” he said.
Though Jax has completed his in-patient treatment, he acknowledges that his mental health journey is ongoing.
“I now have a little bit better understanding of my mental health struggles. I’ve been put on some serious medication that’s actually been helping me out a lot,” he shared.
While Jax is not ready to disclose more about his healing process, he reassured his fans that he will open up when the time is right.
“But right now I kind of just need to deal with this process,” Jax concluded.
