Ariana Madix’s Brother Jeremy Madix Defends Himself Against Felony Drug Charge
Jeremy Madix, brother of Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, is facing severe legal consequences after being caught with a large amount of marijuana while attempting to fly from Florida to Germany.
During a routine search by Customs and Border Protection agents, Jeremy and his friend, Jonah Ahad, were found with marijuana in their luggage—37 pounds in Jonah’s suitcase and a shocking 76 pounds in Jeremy’s.
In July, Jeremy was arrested and charged with trafficking over 25 pounds of cannabis. Following his arrest, Jeremy posted an $80,000 bond and was released from custody. However, the legal battle is just beginning as he now faces the potential of serious jail time.
His mother, Tanya Madix, wrote a heartfelt letter to the court, emphasizing her son’s character. “Over the past 10 years while living in California, he has thrived there. He has a good job and is liked by his employer. He shares a home with his lovely fiancée, Rachael, and their 2 dogs,” Tanya wrote in her plea.
According to In Touch, Jeremy entered a not-guilty plea to the charges. Court documents reveal that his attorneys have requested specific evidence from the case, including the names of witnesses, recorded statements, police reports, and any statements Jeremy may have made during the investigation.
Additionally, Jeremy’s legal team is seeking grand jury notes from his testimony and information on any electronic surveillance or wiretapping related to his case.
They have also requested a list of potential witnesses the prosecution may call during the trial.
Amidst his legal troubles, Jeremy Madix also addressed his strained relationship with his sister, Ariana Madix. The siblings are currently estranged, and Jeremy recently spoke out to clarify the reason for their distance.
“I just want to clarify that I haven’t talked to my sister due to me having to stand up for my fiancée,” Jeremy explained.
Jeremy’s charges carry significant penalties, including a minimum sentence of three years in prison and a $25,000 fine. However, if convicted, Jeremy and his friend Jonah could each face up to 30 years behind bars.
As the case unfolds, Jeremy’s future remains uncertain as he prepares for the legal battle ahead.
