Brittany Cartwright Pedaling S*x Toys Amid Divorce from Jax Taylor
Brittany Cartwright is embracing her new chapter of life following her split from Jax Taylor, and she’s doing it with a bit of humor and a whole lot of self-love.
The Valley star, 35, took to Instagram on Sunday to promote a collection of vibrators from Bellesa Boutique, subtly throwing shade at her estranged husband in the process.
Embracing Self-Love
Brittany shared a series of photos holding up various self-pleasure toys, captioning the post with a playful nod to her newfound independence. “POV: in my self love era 🥰,” she wrote, signaling that she’s focusing on herself after the end of her marriage. “I’ve always done everything on my own, so I’m not going to stop now 😜.”
She then encouraged her followers to participate in a giveaway, before cheekily concluding, “10/10 recommend a toyfriend 😌. Sexual wellness is an essential part of self-love and every woman (and every single mom!) deserves to feel that ♥️.”
The post quickly garnered attention, with fans and fellow reality stars applauding her for the subtle jab at Jax. One fan commented, “This is literally one of the best orchestrated burns on an ex that I have ever seen💋💋.” Her Valley co-stars Nia Sanchez and Zack Wickham also chimed in, with Sanchez praising the caption as “Best caption 👏👏👏” and Wickham calling it the “Realest caption ever 😂🔥👏❤️.”
The Divorce Drama
Brittany’s social media post comes just days after she filed for divorce from Jax, 45, in Los Angeles. The couple, who tied the knot in June 2019 in Cartwright’s home state of Kentucky, have had a tumultuous relationship, well-documented both on Vanderpump Rules and The Valley. The divorce filing cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, with Brittany listing the date of separation as January 24, 2024.
In her filing, Brittany requested full legal and physical custody of their 3-year-old son, Cruz, though she agreed to visitation rights for Jax. The papers were served to Jax at the couple’s sports bar, Jax’s Studio City, while cameras rolled for Season 2 of The Valley.
Speaking Out on the Podcast
Brittany addressed the divorce for the first time on her and Jax’s joint podcast, When Reality Hits, expressing the difficulty of her decision but emphasizing the importance of prioritizing her well-being. “It’s taken me many, many years to get to this point where I gained enough courage and strength to do what’s best for me, get myself out of a toxic relationship and ultimately see my worth,” she shared, holding back tears.
Though leaving Jax was “very difficult,” Brittany said she feels “stronger than ever” and is motivated by her son, Cruz. “My motivation is my son, my Cruzie, who deserves a happy and healthy mommy,” she added.
Moving Forward
In the wake of the divorce filing, Brittany has been seen embracing her new single life. Just hours after submitting her petition, she was spotted receiving an alcohol delivery at her rental home in Sherman Oaks, California, before heading out for a night on the town with her friend Zack Wickham.
Meanwhile, Jax, who spent most of August in a mental health facility, is reportedly on board with the divorce. An insider told Page Six that Jax is “100 percent on board with moving forward with the divorce” and has been “checked out from the marriage for a long time.” The source also noted that the couple’s “vicious cycles needed to stop for the sake of their son,” and described them as “not a good match.”
Brittany first announced the couple’s separation on their podcast in February. She also opened up to her co-stars in the Season 1 finale of The Valley, which aired in June, revealing that Jax — who previously admitted to cheating on her — would become “mean as a f–king snake” while dealing with frequent hangovers.
As Brittany continues to navigate this new phase of her life, it’s clear she’s prioritizing herself and her son, all while maintaining a sense of humor and strength. Fans will undoubtedly be watching closely as she embarks on this new journey.
