“Not holding up very well. I will say that other men, maybe I’ll be an example for other men, a cautionary tale. Don’t neglect your wife,” Mathis said with sincerity. He admitted that over the years, his priorities had shifted away from his marriage, with his wife often coming in third place behind his career, community service, and even socializing with friends.
“Never be busy, never have too much fun beyond your wife,” Mathis advised, offering a word of caution to other men. When asked if the divorce was a long time coming, he avoided giving a direct answer but reiterated that his work often took precedence in the past and continues to do so, as he was traveling at the time of the interview. Despite the turbulence, Mathis insisted that they are still on friendly terms.
“We’re still in the same house and we’re maintaining a friendship, and I’m trying to get my wife back,” he revealed. “I have to show her that, though. Hopefully, I can show her while we’re there together. And hopefully, she doesn’t complete the process, but I’m changing in hopes that she will.”
Judge Mathis Denies Infidelity as the Cause of Divorce

TMZ first reported that Linda is seeking spousal support as part of the divorce settlement, while also requesting that Judge Mathis be denied any spousal support from her. The details of whether a prenuptial agreement exists between the couple, who married in 1985, remain unclear.
