Erika Jayne Says There’s ‘No Hope’ for Her in Dating After Split from Tom Girardi

Erika Jayne is opening up about her love life after her split from ex-husband Tom Girardi.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently appeared on Teddi Mellencamp’s podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, where she joined Teddi in recapping a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County.

During the discussion, Erika pointed out a key difference between the two casts, noting that the OC Housewives “all have a man” while the Beverly Hills ladies are “all single.”

Despite this observation, Erika isn’t bothered by her single status. She admitted to Teddi that after starting the “separation streak” among her RHOBH castmates, she feels there’s “no hope” for her in the dating world and she’s “never going back” to it.

When Teddi asked if she could ever see herself dating again, Erika was doubtful. “I don’t think so,” she responded. “I don’t feel that that’s where I’m at.”

Erika emphasized that her focus is on her personal success and independence. “I have a lot of work to do and I really just want to be successful on my own. I have, for the first time, my own thing,” she explained.

“For real, for real. And being a grown-up, you know? Like this isn’t being 20 and being married to your husband and having a child…this is Erika out on her own doing it, and it feels good,” Erika stated.

Reflecting on her past, Erika shared that she’s eager to explore aspects of herself she couldn’t while she was married. “I want to see what else I can do because, if you’re involved with a man, and certainly with a powerful man, there’s a price to pay. First off, any man,” she said.

“Nothing is free in this world. And you know, the more powerful, the more wealthy, the more price.”

Living alone in her Los Angeles bungalow, Erika has embraced her newfound independence. She revealed that being in a controlling relationship was something she struggled with, saying, “It’s horrible” to feel like you’re “under someone’s finger.”

She added, “I revolt…my personality changes.”

During her Bravo special, Erika Jayne: Bet It All on Blonde, which aired in March 2024, Erika touched on whether she’s considering dating again. While she doesn’t have a boyfriend, she admitted that dating does cross her mind.

“I mean, I’m a single woman, but I think that right now, the focus is on rebuilding and moving forward,” she shared during the special.

“I’m sure that, you know, something great will come into my life in the right time…I’m sure at some point, the right relationship will show up, but right now, I enjoy being a private person. I enjoy just kind of getting back on my feet and that’s what I’ve tried to do for, like, a couple years now.”
